Trustees’ Report – The Friends of The Chandler School For the year ending 31 August 2025 Presented at the Annual General Meeting on 14 October 2025
1. Introduction
The Trustees of The Friends of The Chandler are pleased to present their annual report for the academic year 2024–2025. The Friends is a registered charity run by volunteers to advance the education and wellbeing of pupils at The Chandler Junior School.

Trustees: Kelly Davidson, Sarah Wheatcroft, Andrew Pinnells
2. Structure, Governance, and Management
The Friends operate under their adopted constitution, affiliated with Parentkind.
There are three committee posts – Chair, Treasurer and Secretary. The post holders are elected annually at the AGM, as are the Trustees.
The AGM is held in the Autumn term, and further meetings are held regularly throughout the year.
3. Objectives and Activities
Our main objectives are to:

Raise funds to provide equipment, activities, and experiences that enhance pupils’ learning and enjoyment.

Foster close relationships between parents, staff, and the wider community.

Support the school through volunteering and community engagement.
4. Achievements and Performance
During the year, The Friends organised several successful events, including:
-
Summer Fair – raised £2,717, plus the raffle raised £868
-
Christmas Fair – raised £1,933, plus the raffle raised £990
-
Fireworks – a great community event enjoyed by many families, raised £1,980
-
Discos – the two discos combined raised £2,608
Total fundraising for the year was approximately £12,500 , enabling us to contribute towards:

The Pavilion (outdoor classroom)

New playground markings
-
Stage, play boards and play table in year 6 area

Refurbished climbing wall
-
Chromebook trolley
-
Cameras
These contributions have made a visible and positive impact on the school environment.
5. Financial Review
At year-end, The Friends had income of £27,192 and expenditure of £40,667. The finances remain healthy, and the closing bank balance as at 31 August 2025 was £11,839. Full accounts are available from the Treasurer.
6. Thanks and Acknowledgements
The Trustees thank all parents, carers, staff, and local supporters who have contributed time, donations, and enthusiasm. Special thanks to the Head and staff for their continued cooperation and encouragement.
7. Future Plans
Next year, we aim to:

Explore new fundraising opportunities and ideas for events

Continue supporting enrichment projects that benefit every pupil
