The Trustee8J Annual Report- Year Ended 31. December 2023
History? objective8 and activities of the Trust
l) Who We Are
We are Christians from many walks of life who rneel together ￿ a local church because of our common faith in
th¢ Lord Jesus Christ. We are not controlled by any cffltral organisation and all our bcliefs are based solely on
Gods Word - the Holy Bible.
2) What Do We Believe
That th¢ Bible is the Dtvinely inspired and providently pr&SerV￿ Wonl of God and, ￿ such should be believed
arjd obey￿.
That there is one true God who, although one, is trÉune, comprlsing Father, Son and Holy Spiri( who are co-equal
and have been in existcnce etemally.
That God has revealed Him.qelf to hwnanity in the person of His belov￿ Son, the Lord Jesus Cl￿Ast.
That man is a Sinner by nature and totally incapable of satisfyillg the requiTements of a right￿llS God, however
tI￿t the Lord Jesus Christ by His lif< and rtgU￿e¢tlon has provided a Means of forgiveness of sins and
eternal life to all those who will accept Him. through repentance and faid4 as Lord and Saviour.
That the Lord Jesus Christ will come to ￿1ve all those vtho have tr￿gled bim as Saviour and, ultin]ately> lo
judge all those who have rejected Him.
3) What is Our Purpose
'ro seek to bring others to personal saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour and to baptis¢ th¢m
as b¢li¢v¢rs by immersion in the name of the Father and of the Son and of tbe Holy Spirit.
To encourage all those who know and love the Lord Jesus ChrisL to come tog&h¢r regularly for worsbip* prayer
and Bible study* that the spiritual ]ife of all in the local church may grow to the glory of God.
4) Htstory
From our earliest records, we know that the WO￿ being carried out from Coleford Gospel Hall wa8 c<)rnm¢nced
by a sm(Ill group of Cl]ristians in the early 1920's. The meeting8 took place frst of all in the corrugated iron hut
on Highbury Cross, Higbbury. Col¢ford and from January 1984 in th¢ pres¢nt premises adjacent to Highbury
Cross. The spiritual leadership and pastoral care of the church is the re8p)nsibility of the elders, but ¢v¢ry member
is considcred of ¢qual importanc¢ and ar¢ mwurdg(xJ to tsk¢ an acliv¢p8rt in thc lifc ofthc churclL We encourage
each other to live out our faith every day, at work and at home, not just on Sundays. We welcom¢ all new faces
and continually seek to make new contacts in the distiict. We are always willing to provide spiritual help and
advice and are happy to hear from members of the local community at any time who may be seeking spiritual
guidance.
