THE RUSSIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH OF THE INTERCESSION OF THE HOLY VIRGIN 64 Clarence Road, Manchester M13 0YE Registered Charity no. 1118331

TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT

YEAR ENDING 13.09.2024

This year has been both uplifting and encouraging for our parish community. We are blessed to support refugees from Ukraine who are finding peace, comfort, and a sense of belonging among us. Our Sunday children’s club continues to thrive, gently introducing the younger generation to the Orthodox Christian faith.

To better accommodate our gatherings—especially during feasts and communal celebrations—we have commenced with the planning of the parish kitchen refurbishment. Our pilgrimages across England and Wales have drawn growing numbers, as we joyfully promote the veneration of British saints such as Saint Seiriol of Penmon, Saint John of Beverley, and Saint Winifred.

The Church has remained open every Sunday for the Divine Liturgy, with additional services on major feast days. We are deeply grateful for our devoted and hard-working priest whose care and commitment are felt by all. It has been heartening to see a steady increase in parishioners, a rise in baptisms, and more volunteers coming forward to support parish life in meaningful and practical ways.

As always, our mission remains unchanged: to support those most in need. As in previous years, we have continued to fund summer camp places for children from our most vulnerable families.

Our parish is growing, and it brings great joy to see more and more people coming together every Sunday in worship, faith, and fellowship.
