study, with 8 total budget of £270,000. to examine how patients wth head and neck canc&rs are
diagnosed and treated. Led by Professor Thomas Cowllng, the study wll help to infomi charities Ilke Get
A-Head on where to best direct resources and furKling for most impacl. The audit is belng supported by
an allianc* of medical and chaiitable or9anisations. induding Get A-Head and the Head and Neck
Cancer Coalition.
Swallows Head and Neck C•ncor Charlty 1£24,OIJO grnntl: This support enables th& 6xpansion of
Swallows support groups across the Midlands and the employment of a dedlcatod lead lo further
develop seNi¢es nationwide. These groups offer vitsl peer and professional support for patients, a
hallmark of Get A-Head's collaboration 8fforts.
Educatlonal grant (£1,000): Clare Mcaleer recefved funding to attend Ihe ￿VanCe￿&Ve1
"Laryngeclomy". R8habilitalion and Surgical Voice Restoration" course at Imperial College London. This
aligns wtlh Ggt A-H8ad's commltment to education and ensudng heallh¢are professionals have acc•ss

The reserves policy has been developed lo malntaln resllience and 8nsur8 that we can continue lo work on our
renewed vision and comprehensive strategy launched at the beginning 012024. Our policy 1$ to ensure we hold
sufficient reserves to mo81 operallng cknsts including for8￿st deficit for the naxt 12 month$ and to ensure we Can
m8et our long tom strategic plan ¢ommllm6nts.
All reslri¢l8d funds are restricted income funds where the donor has provided thè donatlon lo be spent in
furtherance of a s￿￿￿fied charitable purpose. The tsvo main funds, MTC and ACC are explained in
Achievements and Perfomiance of the Trust above and the Inl8nllon Is that grants wlll b& awarded against these
Funds over the next Couple of y88ts. Th888 will follow th• nom181 grant aptKoval process with the oxtont of the
granls being govemèd by the level of reserves.
