The membershlp Is composed of parents or legal guardlans of puplls currently enrolled In Lady Bankes Prlmary School. However, the assoclatlon Is fortunate to also enlist the help and support of the wider school community- members of staff, governors. former pupils, local residents and buslnesses- for events and fundralsing. The charities officers are defined as two Co-chalrs, a Secretary and a Treasurer, and these members are elected at the Annual General Meeting IAGMI. We have other speclfic roles which are: Creative Coordinator, Community Engagement Offlcer and Year Group Representatives, and numerous Other volunteers. Each trustee automatically retires with effect from the next AGM followin8 their appointment, but is eligible for re-election at that AGM If they are proposed and seconded by the membership and willlng to stand. Mission and Ob ectlves FOLBA'S misson and objectives are to organise events and engage In activie5 to raise funds to support the school and other charities which enrich the experience of our children's school life. It works In partnership with our parents, carers, staff and other members of our local communlty to ensure the children's success and well-being. Activities With due regard for the Charity Commissioi)'s public benefit guidance and in Ilne wlth our objectives, each year.the PTA runs a wide range of events both to ralse funds towards the school's 'Wish Llst, and to provide social opportunities for the pupils, parents, staff, governors and wider school community. These include events such as discos, bake sales, 5ummerfete, Christmas fair, non- uniform days, raffles. second books and uniform sales. The committee welcomes suggestions from the membership and organize5 one-off fundraising initiatives. All activities are planned by the committee, havlng gard to safeguarding and risk assessment.
The work of the PTA enables the advancement of pupils. education by giving money to the school for the purchase of equipment, resourts5, facilities and other 'Wish List, items it would otherwise not be able to afford. Achievements FOLBA plays such an important role in supporting the school funding, especially in a time when nationally schools have financial struggles. We have supported the school by providing vital re50urce5, Opportunities and experiences for the children. There Is a lot of effort and commitment given by its core members and we are extremely fortunate to have an active and supportive Headteacher, as well as staff who support the events in and around the classroom, and parents and other members of the local community who all lend a hand when they can. These not only raised funds of an amazing £17k but a150 brings parentslcarers, teachers and the communlty together. ment and Enrlchment This year was filled with events that the children thoroughly look forward tool FOLBA ran three themed discos IHollywood VIP, Wild West and Superheros & Vlllainsl which raised an astonishing £2.6k and included the use of a photo booth and a rodeo bull, that were both popular with the chlldren. The Summer Fair ralsed an impressive £2.5k and was a huge success wrth families who enjoyed the food, music and entertainment. Bouncy castles were a hit and were sponsored by Gibson Honey la local Estate Agent). For Christmas, FOLBA raised another nearly £1.5k from the Children's Xmas Fair and Xmas Movle & Jumper Day. A new addition to the list of events this year was World Book Day where FOLBA sold Golden Ticket Chocolate Bars. This was a huge success and a sell-out. Whilst raising around £250, the event was a lot of fun and we were 8rateful for the donation of prizes from a parent, Laura Ardouln. An Easter bonnet competition was held as a free event and klndly sponsored by Phllippa Hester, Millinery UK. This year Saw the m05t amount of bonnets than ever before. Every chlld wa5 provided with a certificate and sm811 gift for participating and prizes were awarded to the best hats In each vear group. This shows how FOLBA is in keepin8 With its mission of enriching the children's lives.
Fundraisin To raise more funds for the school, FOLBA held two raffles this year, one at Easter which was kindly sponsored by Gibson Honey and raised nearly £800 and another at the end of term in July, which raised an amazing £1.3kl These raffles cannot be achieved without all the generous gifts and donation5 from local sponsors and the parent and friends of the school. The Coin Challen8e in Oct ra15ed nearly an amazing £900, all from chlldren bringing in100se change from home and seeing which class collerted the mostl The winners were awarded a movie and snacks afternoon. We continue to generate money from encouraging members to SUPPOrt the PTA via online Initiatives such as EasyFundrasing.org.uk when they shop online1£971, Asda Cashpot {£6191 and clothlng collections by Astra Recycling raised over £460. We are extremely fortunate to receive regular payments from CAF via payroll giving from one of our parents Peter Hogg. For this year we received an astonishing £1,455 via CAF- big thanks to Peter and his employerl At the end of the year, we organized for each chlld to deslgn a Christmas card which families would then have the opportunity to purchase via the IQ cards ordering system. This is an event which we run annually, and It Ss always very well supported. For this year we raised £396 in profit. We continue to sell Pre Loved uniform which we know our members are grateful for a5 they provide all parents/carers the opportunity to dress children In school unlform at reasonable prices. We now have an onllne ordering system which is working well and have held sales throu8hout the year, generating £600. In the run up to Christmas, in association with the Beck Theatre, we sold discounted pantomime tickets. We were thrilled to make over £610 profit. whilst giving the opportuntty to families of the school to purchase discounted tickets for the pantomime. Anothertrip, organlsed by FOLBA, saw chlldren and their families having a great day out at Le8oland Windsor, purchaslng tickets at a reduced rate and raising nearly £8001 Communl As members of the local community, FOLBA have a huge presence with a games stall in local events, namely the Ruisllp Manor Fundays in summer and Xmas- these events are well attended by local families {although Summer was a washout with rain all day). These events raised over £1600 in profit. We also continue to work with Ruislip Roundtable at Xmas and participate in the Chrlstmas Santa Walk. We will receive £300 as profit.
Financial Review and Reserves Polic Friend of Lady Bankes Association ends the financial perlod havlng funded some fantastic facilities for the school as per its mission and holds pragmatic reserves for planned events and investments in the following period. On 31 December 2024 we held £20,016.72 in our bank account. Reserves are held where we are savlng for larger investments that cannot be funded instantly. For example, In July 2024 we paid a deposit for a Circus event to be held in 2025.
