FURRY TAILS FELINE WELFARE

REPORT OF THE INDEPENDENT EXAMINERS TO THE MEMBERS OF FURRY TAILS FELINE WELFARE

We report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31 December 2024.

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiners

As the charity’s trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the account. You consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 43(2) of the Charities Act 1993. It is our responsibility to state, on the basis of procedures specified in the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners under section 43(7)(b) of the Act, whether particular matters have come to our attention.

Basis of independent examiners report

Our examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently we do not express an opinion on the view given by the accounts.

Independent examiners statement

In connection with our examination, no matter has come to our attention:

TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2024

2024 has been a very sad year. Our founder and trustee sadly passed away in April after a long illness. John was a big part of the sanctuary and will be deeply missed by all of us. The sanctuary is carrying on but for the time being operating with reduced numbers this gives us the time to carry on updating the units.

Veterinary costs are still continuing to increase so this year we have not been able to carry on the neuter campaign. We need to look at a different way to help in the future with this essential work but at a cost that the charity can afford.

The shop is keeping its head above water but the ongoing work at the JR Taylor building is still ongoing with no end in sight. This is causing problems for all the traders on Garden Street as the road is still closed hampering any visibility from the busiest part of the town.

We continue to work hard fundraising to keep the sanctuary operating so special thanks to everyone that supports us we could not do what we do without your continued help.

Miss K Upton (Secretary) For and on behalf of the trustees
