As trustees of the charity, we have ¢ompikd wfth the duty in Section 1715) of the 2011 Charitio5 Act lo have due
regard lo guidance published by the Charity Commisslon.
The charity he￿S and eno)urage8 farmerB lo keep Bluè Texel sheep by assisting with inlomatitsn, malnts*￿ng a
flock book, prowding marketing sUPPOrt suth as demonstrations, Open days. kafiets. wèbsitè and soaal media.
Infomi81ion is disseminaled lo colleges, fairs, sthools, and n8liono1 libraries. The charity meets its ch8rtsble
obje¢tivès via tts annual shows and sales. which bèneffts f8rm8rs by maintaining the purity of the breeij.
The committ¢e 1$ keen to involve young people in the breed and hold an annual Young Handlers compètilion at
the RoyÈl Welsh Show, which has become increasingly well sUPPOrted. A trophy is also awarded to the you
person nominated as having most inlluence on the breed in th• ￿Or through shomng, helping other fnefflberB
etG.
ACHIEVEAIENT AND PERFORMANCE

The Soclety member8hlp currenly stand6 at around 835 members, who ar8 currenlty paying full 8ubs¢xIpti￿) and
regl$terfng sheep. The numbers have increased sub31anlialty over the past few years.
The bréèd is ￿ComIng increasingly more popular in new ¥Te?s of the country is attractive to both smaUholder¥,
comm•rcial breed due for many fanners wshing for an easy lambing female.
The breed ¢onlinu¢$ to b$ 8 main attraction at many of Ihe main 3hryw8 and has seen an inuease in member
showing and shows offering dedicated classes. The committee maintsins vigilan¢e of the shvmng of sheep and
the prèsentation of the breed for both breed lype and any aclivhties whith they consider detrimental to the breed,
rnembers or thè society. Anyone found to be contrary lo the benefit of the mèmbers and or the breed is dealt wlih
in and 8dvisory way or through our N8wsletter and anyone continuing to usg una￿eptable pracii5e is dealt with
by Ihè soci•ty committ88 as they see fft.
The annual sales contlnue to attrad a good $el¢dion of sheep for all buyers bul th8r8 is still an issue %yith the
breed type ￿1ft9 CLxnplied with and Mll continueto be monitored.
The websile is kept up lo dalè and mèmb8rs received informatic¢n via the website, facebook. newsletters, email
and direct mailing throughout in the year keeping them well infornied of what is happening.
