## **POLICIES and PROCEDURES**

When drawing up and monitoring our policies and procedures we begin with those suggested by British Youth for Christ and made available to local centres. We then adapt them for our own use.

## **DEVELOPMENTS**

The Trustees of East Norfolk Youth for Christ have continued to spend time meeting with and listening to those in church and youth leadership within the town. This reflects our

desire to work in partnership with other agencies, thereby enhancing their existing work and acting as a catalyst for new projects.

At the start of the summer Rev.Jemma Sander-Haye,joined the trustees and Alison Roberts and Stuart Hanks left the board of trustees We also closed the office at this time due to the costs.

## **ACTIVITIES**

All of East Norfolk Youth for Christ’s activities are aimed at drawing together young people from a range of churches and from no church as well as those of different faiths and no faith in order to encourage and enthuse them, by supporting them through life’s difficulties and joys. All our events are staffed by a team of around 10 volunteers.

## **Regular events**

## _**Great Yarmouth Charter Academy**_

Amilcar Formoso continued to visit the two **dining areas** during the school lunch hour, three times a week where he offered every student and staff member, support from a Christian perspective, including but not exclusively those young people going through a challenging period of life. Due to Covid19 restrictions Amilcar was only able to attend 29 times from January – March & 21 times from September – December. However he was able to help support, the young people in these times to cope with the upset to their lives.

## _**Youth Café**_

The café provides young people with a safe place where they can enjoy the company of their friends outside of the school premises whilst having access to adult volunteers who are in place to supervise, support, encourage and answer questions. Free toast, fruit and drinks are provided together with games equipment and craft activities. This also attracts those young people who are no longer in full time state education and those from different high schools. This event only operated For the first few months up to the first lockdown.

## _**Theos**_

This Bible study group for those young people who specifically want to learn more about the Christian faith continued to thrive in our office premises. The numbers vary each week, but we continued to see a regular core of 8 young people committed to the group. This was moved onto Zoom and continued in term time through out the year.

This was called off due to covid19

## **Kairos**

We took 12 young people to a camp for the weekend 14th-16th Feb. Joining with North Breckland Youth for Christ & Norwich Youth for Christ.

## _**Christmas Gig with The Sense**_

Again this did not go ahead this year due to covid 19.

## **FINANCIAL REVIEW**

## Reserves:

Our policy, constantly under review, is to maintain sufficient cash to meet planned and budgeted expenditure for the forthcoming 3 months.

With Amilcar Formoso going to full-time contract, we have continued to deplete our reserves However with a grant over 3 years from the Willet trust & a donation of £20,000

At the year-end our total savings balance rose by £9,000 and remained comfortably in excess of our target minimum figure.
