Trustee’s Report 2020.
There were no changes to trustees during 2020. The need to strengthen our Board of Trustees was recognised in 2018, but this has not been possible to date.
The trustees continue to believe that due to the sums involved and the limited number of transactions made, neither an independent examination of the accounts nor an audit is required.
All records are available for inspection by interested parties.
Activities.
During the year of 2020 the Covid-19 Pandemic has prevented UK-based trustees from visiting Romania However as one trustee lives permanently in Romania, all trustees are continually updated
At the Sanctuary, the home of young people suffering from HIV, the pandemic caused some disruption primarily due to staff testing positive on a few occasions. This caused periods of selfisolation and the necessary changes to staff working arrangements to cover the resulting absences. In general however, the organisation proved resilient and capable of coping with such difficulties. The young residents of the Sanctuary also proved to be able to adapt to the changing circumstances in which they found themselves. Although some extra curtailment of freedom was necessary they have continued ongoing activities and have been heavily involved in the growing of vegetables in the polytunnels.
In Jacodu there has been continued progress made on all projects. The Education Centre had to be closed for the periods of ‘Lock-down’ but this served to high-light the important role it now fills in the community. Similarly, the agricultural project had to proceed but without the involvement of the Roma community that it was primarily intended to benefit. The work of distributing food-parcels to the poverty stricken families in the Roma community of Albesti also continued, but the funds for this were sent directly to Love Light in Romania and thus did not impact on Love Light Romania Aid this year.
The majority of fund-raising activities continue to be instigated by Love Light Romania utilising the Internet. Work on revamping and updating the Love Light Romania web-site commenced (in Romania) just before the pandemic struck. It could not be continued until after the lock-down restrictions had been lifted, but (at time of writing) has now been completed.
Other matters.
Love Light Romania Aid now, and for the foreseeable future is operated solely and exclusively to support Love Light Romania in their work to alleviate poverty and the effects of sickness in Romania. As such all trustees give their time freely. There are no employees. We are committed to the principal that all monies donated go directly to the benefit of the children and young persons we seek to aid.

Re: Love Light Romania Aid,
I have compiled the accounts of Love Light Romania Aid for the year ending 31/12/2020.
In doing so I have examined all transactions, checked Bank Statements, and where appropriate,
Checked receipt of money transfers with the recipient, being, in all cases, Love Light Romania..
The accounts reflect an accurate summation of the Charities affairs during the year and show that with the exception of the necessary Bank Charges, all monies donated go without deduction to Love Light Romania in Romania
