Trustees Annual Report for the year ended 31 December 2025
The trustees present their annual report and financial statement for the year ended
31 December 2025. The financial statements have been prepared on a cash basis.
Structure. Governance and Management
The Streetlight Trust was established on 4 February 2tK)6 under a trust deed. The
charity is constituted as a TrusL
The trust is managed by the trustees. There are no staff employed by the Trust The
trust deed prowdes for a minimum of three trustees. There were eight Trust&s at the
end of the year.
New trustees are appointed by the e￿stIng Trustees. All new Trustees are appointed
for an initial temi of three years. During the year. Andrew Barton was reappointed as
a Trustee.
At trustees. meetings the strategy for Streetlight is agreed, finances and fundraising
are rewewed, along with the achievements being made with the funds provided to
Kanlungan.
During 2025, three Trustee meeting were held online. The Trustees dealt with other
matters via e-mail.
Objectives and activities for the Public Benefft
The objects of the Streetlight Trust as set out in its trust deed are "to improve the
lives of the poorest and most vulnerable children and their families in the Philippines
by making grants of money available to non-governmental organisations (NGO'S)
operating with a Christian etho&"
The Trustees have paid due regard to the Charity Commission's guidance on public
benefit in deciding what actiwties the charity should undertake.
Achievements and perforniance
Streetlight continues to fund one NGO operating in Metro Manila in Philippines:
Kanlungan Sa ERM
Kanlun
In recent years. Kanlungan has been dealing with the fallout from the explosive
growth of online sexual exploitation in the Philippines. Kanlungan estimate that over
90% of the children in their care have experienced some kind of online sexual
exploitation.

Kanlungan operates in the metro-manila area in the Philippines, and runs projects
covering:
street education and child protection for street childrery

day centre for street children, where children get an education and a meal;
a temporary shelter and short-tem residential care centre for street children
who need counselling and suppo¢
long tem) residential care and training centres, one for girfs and one for boys;
after care to reunite children with their families, provide educational
a￿lstanCe and help the parents tske care of the children,.

During 2025. Kanlungan served 1,429 children across its residential care and
communty-based work in 25 communities. Ststistics can never tell the transforming
impact that Kanlungan's work can make. Ana's story below from Kanlungan's 'Arise
and Shine- Report gives some insight into the transformational impact that is
regularly achieved.
When Ana (not her real name) arrived at Kanlungan. she carried burdens no child
should ever face. Loss, neglert and forced responsibility had tsken away her
childhood. At Kanlungan. Ana found safety, care, and faith. Slowly, her confidence
grew. Once shy and afraid. she now goes to school wtth determination and joy eager
to learn and to share her knowledge with her younger siblings.
Her joumey is still unfolding, but one truth is clear. Ana's life is no longer shaped by
negle¢ but by hope. Through love. guidance, and prayer, she is leaming to dream
ain.
The grants made to Kanlungan are largely unrestricted to cover the core staffing
costs of the organisation, as well as utilities and food forthe children.
Streetlight trustees ensure that the wblic benefit stated in the Trusvs objects are
being achieved in several ways. The prime means is from visits to see Kanlungan's
projects in action.
In 2025. Trustees vislted Kanlungan wth three groups.. one in January and tsyo in April
Imay. Trustees also kept in contsct with Kanlungan via online attendance at staff
devotions, and regular online and telephone communication. The Chair of Streetlight,
lan HerberL remains a member of the Board of Trustees at Kanlungan.
The twstees are very conscious of the impact of climate change. especialty on the
world'5 poorest people, and now has a policy to carbon offset air travel. This will be
done by any travellers to the Philippines on Streetlight business. The carbon offset
money is being used to fvnd projects at Kanlungan thatwill reduce cartrKJn emissions.
The trustees are extremely grateful to all Streetlighys supporters. Thanks to modern
technology we are able to bring our supporters into contact with the staff team at
Kanlungan.

Reser¥es Policy
The TTUSt regularly reviews its reser￿ policy. During the year, the reserves level was
maintained at £18,400 equal to four of the regular unrestricted monthly payments
made to Kanlungan.
The unrestricted cash balance at year end was £25,824 which is above the minimum
reserve. The charity's cashflow is always at its highest in December. txjring 2025, the
reserves did go below the minimum. but with a clear cashflow plan the charity was
able to restore balances by the year end.
Financial Review Details
The fundraising enwronment remained challenging across the sector in 2025. The
diverse range of Streetlighfs fundraising income streams helped the charity
bwthstsnd these challenges better than many.

During the year, cash receipts totalled £76,042 (up 4% on 20241 and cash expenditure
£81,121 (up 20% on 2024).
As trustees, we have yet again been greatly encouraged by the remarkable generosity
and commitment of our supporters. Thank you.
Indivldual Regulargiving totslled £19,417 (up 5% on 2024). The number of regular
givers increased to 50 during the year.
Individual Single Giviry totslled £11.061 (down 32% on 2024). This stream of giving
does vary year on year because it is highly dependent on a small number of
individuals who have been long-standing supporters of Streetlight We are so
grateful to you.
Gift aid of £7,952 was claimed during the year, a 23% increase on 2024.
Fundn7ising event and artivity income was £23,110 (up 58% on 2024). The main
event organised by Streetlight is the Christmas Ball in Bletchley which raised almost
£13,500. We are also grateful for other events held on our behalf, not least the annual
golf day run over many years by Paul Dawson.
One of the features of 2025 was the amount of fijndraising done by indiwduals who
were visiting the Philippines Oust over £4.CrfXJ in total).
We were also gratefijl to Jess Lane running the Belfast Marathon on our behalf,
raising £1,439.
We were delighted that Kwon Sale continued to partner with Streetlight contributing
£2,750 from their sales of good quality children's dothing, equipment and toys at
Trent Vineyard Churth.

During the year, remlttances to Kanlungan sa ERMA totslled £70.880 {up 17% on
20241. Of the total in 2025, £70,4￿1 was from unrestricted funds and £420 from
restricted funds.
Streetlight maintained its regular giwng of £55.2(Xi to Kanlungan which is provided
on an unrestricted basi5 to support Staff salaries, rents, food and utilities. This
funding is of great strategic value to Kanlungan as many grant funders will not fund
general costs. Additional gifts were made, mainly to support Kanlungan staff costs
and a small welfare fund for Kanlungan staff.
The costs of fvmlrn(sing events ond artivlties totalled £8,2(M) (up 40% on 2024)
reflecting increased numbers to be catered for at the Christmas Ball. We are grateful
to the team at Wilton Hall for their strong partnership with Streetlight and all their
hard work
Admlnistrntion costs of £713 covered costs of child protection, insurance and
charges for managing online payments. All of the remittances to the Philippines are
now managed without bank charges thanks to the switch to Equals Money.
All administration costs are covered by the Trustees. financial contributions.
Tr￿1 costs of £1,328 were incurred by the Trust to party offset TTUStee costs in
visiting Kanlungan.
The Trustees, policy that any travel costs must be more than funded by the Trustees
pooled financial contributions to Streetiight remains in place.
Growing awareness of Streetlight
We build awareness through relationships with individuals and churches. Those
visiting Kanlungan are crucial ambassadors for us, connecting with their netsvorks.

Social media is also crucial. Our Trustee, Lian Lynch, leads on this. During 2025, we
grew our social media following on Facebook with 36,6(M) views of content including
1,500 content interactions. The most successful post had 1194 views. Instagram
engagement has also grown with 22.(KX) vsews
Looklng forward
2026 will mark the 20 anniversary of Streetlight support for Kanlungan.
We continue to pray that Kanlungan stsff will help children heal from trduma and
unlock their inner, God-given. potential.
The challenge for Streetlight will be to sustsin and grow income, parkncularly against a
backdrop of church finances continuing to be stretched. We remain optimistic based
on the commitment of long-stsnding supporters and our well diversified fundraising
income streams.
