Manchester Taoist Cenlre trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit when devising all activities. In line with the objective of the charity, Manchesler Taoist Centre has promoted and delivered community classes, workshops and classes where the traditional Chinese perfomiing arts of Lishi were taught for public benefit. This year the charity has continued to gradual￿ increase rts income. whilst modestly increasing the scale of ils activities. A new strategy for delivery of classes and work8hops has been adopted. The use of social media to engage participants appears to be popular and has developed a sense of community and belonging to the groups. It has continued to deliver weekly classes, wilh an additional location, venue and teacher being added. Retention of participants has improved vastly because of this with Some people beginning Iheir third, and fourth, year of participation. Online classes have gone from strength to strength, with new people taking these on, and reflecling on the positive changes it has made to their mental artrd physical and emotion81 health. Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects {include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit) Manchester Taoist Centre has continued to seek grants and funds to supplement donations received from participants in order to provide a safe and quality leaming environment for effective practice. Section D Achievements and performance Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year Manchester Ta)ist Centre has gratefvlty receNed donations from Ihe public. Marketing activit￿ have teen streamlined to help grow the existing classes. and encourage retention. Successes have been shared on social media and via email lo raise the profile of the charity and to encourage people to come and ty the cfasses. Online classes continued to be popular. and gome people continue to prefer this to in person classes. Manchester Taoist Centfe d￿$ not charge a membership fee. We do not want lo exclude people from joining classes and benefiting from its activities. Manchester Taoist Centre encourages those people who can afford to make donations depending on the value they place on the work of the charty. In this way, we raised funds through the classes, workshops and courses wn by Manchester Taoist Centre. The charity is grateful for the support of all 11$ donors. and will also seek alternative funding slreams from grant awarding bodies. All volunteers give their time for free and do not gain financrally from the work they do.
