Re£rultrn•nt and appolntment of Trustees
The existing trustees are responsible lor the recfuItNent of new trustees but in so doing the trustees seek the views and
recommendations of both elder5 and community leaders. The trustee5 believe thi5 approach ensures that new trustees are
respected members of the falth and local cornrnunities and ensures that good relations are f05tered between the Mosque and
the people of the local community that we serve.
In selectin8 new tiustees, we seek to Identify people who regularly attend events and functions or8anlsed by the charlty a￿d
are wllllns to volunteer to help In our to help In our broader community work. Potentials trustees are Invited to attend
trustees, me•tin8 as observers and are Efven more details of the charlty's aims and actlve5 and ,if all agree. they are then
proposed as new trustee5 at the subsequent trustees, meetlng. Thi5 proce55 allows due ¢onslderJtion of the person's

Following appointment, new trustees are Introduced to their new role and 8iven ¢oples of the trust deed and a iuide to the
policies and procedLFres adopted by our charity. A number of publlcation5 from the charlty commlssion are also provlded
including the 8uidance on charitles and publlc benefit and on the advancement of religion for the publlc benefit. This ensures
that new trustees are aware o ihe scope of their re5pon5ibilities under the charity act. lllitially, new trustees work with an
existing trustees assistlng on partlcular attlvltles 8nd projects rvn by the charlty, After $2tlsfaciory feedback from exlstlTrg
trustees. they are then given the task of leadlnB a partirular activities or proiert, reportin8 pro8res5 at trustee5' meetin85
Orpnlsatlonal stru¢lure
The charity trustees are responsible for the general control and rnana8ement of the charlty. The trustees 8ive their time freely
and receive no remuneration or other flnanoa1 beneflt.
The trustees meet tts8ether as a body monthly and are responslble for all decislon taken in r•l•tlon to r￿nnIng the Mosque
and the Community facilities and the artlvlties provlded by the charity. To a5515t In the 5rn00th runnlnE of ihe charlty the
trustees h•ve sei up a number of sub-comminee that help thern oversee ￿rtain aspects of Lhe charity's work.
Sub￿0MMIttee$ are currently set up for flnancial and for the day-te-day management of the bulldlng and report back wlth
thelr recommendarions io the full meeting of the trustee5. The sub-Eommittee5 each meetln8 Six time5 a year. on alternate
months to each tsther. The chalr of ihe trustees chair5 both suiFcommittees whose membership reflect the particular skllls
that trustèes can brln8 ¢0 the work of the sub-cornmittee5.
The day-to-day management of the Mosque and community facllltles and project are delegated to Staff. A separate committee
deals wilh the collection and di5trlbution of Donation rneets as required to deal with the collettion and distribution of
Donation. In addition lo that, therè are further sub committee3 lor the woman, youth Imam5 and Oahwa, all with their
individual responsibillties.

Volunteews
Volunteers are an important resource in both our faith and comrnunity work. Volunteers are invol¥ed in rnost of our falth and
community activities and we have numerous people regularly giving their time and effort. A11 our trustees also sive of their
time freely. We encoura8e all members of our Mosque to be involved in voluntary activities and to share thelr 5kllls with
others. All those volunteers working wlth projecls involving childret) or other vulner3ble group5 are CRB checked.
OBJECTIVE5 AND AcfiviTIES
The objects of the charlly are sel out In the charity's trust deed and are summari5ed as follows..
l. To advance the rellgion of151am, by means of, but not exclusively, promotin8 the teachiTr85 and tenets of Islam, provision of
facllltle5 for151amic educatlon and provision of marrla8e and burial servlces, in 3ccordante wlth teachlngs of ihe Qur'aan and
the Sunnah ofthe prophet Muharnmad IPBUHI;
11. To relieve sickTre5s and to preserve good health among the poor, underprlvlleged, refugee5, and people in need by Means
of, but not exclusively. the provlslon or assistsnce in the provision of service, facilitie5. equlpment, clinics, medicines or grants
for medical dia8nosls and treatment , and provislon of health education:
111. To advance education for the benefits of the poor, the underprivileged, refv8eÈs and people in need by means of, but not
exclusrvely, the provision of education pro8r3rnrnes, such as Arabic language classes, community learnln8 programme5,
tuition classes and the provlslon or the assistance In the provision of educatlon facllltles, such as schoo15, libraries and
tralnln8 centres,.

ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
Charity has orBanised event5. siminars and community support work.The charity had also achieved completing the
Refurbishment of the l & 2 Floor and opening two new classrooms for learning and creating space for readin8 . And throu8h
the support of the community and the hard work of volunteer5 the Charity achieved to raise this for the bulldln8 renewal.

The charity carries Out a wide range of att5vltles In pursuance of its charirable aims. The trusiees conslder that these activltles
summari5ed below provide benefit both to those who worship at our Mosque Jnd the wlde commuTrity of Masjid Al Quba.
Relisiouj Actlvltle
Our Mosque provide • centre for our prayers ¥nd worshlp and for the acrlvliies assoclated with our falth. Durin8 the year
under review, we offered a range of religlous servlces and activities includin8.
Prayer5- The M05que is open all day fnr daily and Friday prayers. Durin8 thè wèek we have aver 100 people who regularly
attend dally prayer5 and over 400 who regularly allend Friday prayers.
Festlval: The Mosque prepares food durinR R3rn3dan for those attending our Mosque who wlsh to break thelr fast tO8ether.
Eid was a150 celebrated at the Mosque with a famlly day dnd communal meal.
Festival.. The Mosque prepares food durlng Ramadan for those attendin8 our Mosque who w15h to bleak their fast together.
Eid wa5 also celebiated at ihe Masque wlrh a family day and communal meal.
Festlval- The Mosque prepare5 food during Ramadan for those attendin8 our Mosque who wish to break their fast together.
Eid was also celebrated at the Mosque with a family day and communal meal.
Funèral Facillties.. The Mosque plans funeral service, provided In other locations, in Ilne with the teachlnB of Islam. We relleve
the dÈceased'5 bereaved ielatives of the burden of organlsSng burlals. We also hold special elasses to teach people how io
proceed with Islamic bu(lal procedures.
Qvll Marriage and Nlkkah.. The Mosque provides Muslim couples with an appropr5ate location for tr*)th their civil mariia8e and
Nikkahl15Iamic Marrlagel.

Madresah: Memorisatiora of the Qura'n is considered an important element of religious education and trainin8. We cO￿tinue
to provide this facility for the youn8 people in the Mosque. We are pleased this program which continues to run successfully
with over 20 young people regularly attending these classes.
Proiram on the qU￿aTr.. Acr0$5 the prevlous years we were honourèd with ihe visit of many famous Qur'an reciters 8nd
scholars. Over 400 people attended the Mosque to hear their recltation. We aim to invltè at le8St 2 throu8h the year.
Donatlon: It is part of our faith that all who are able should offer Donation. t)onatlon is collected in proportlon to a person's
means, in accordance with the teaching of151am, and is the giving of money for a number of Specific purposes, including to
help other5 , and to further the teaching of Islam. A Muslim need not give Donation throu8h the Mosque but we do provide
the opportunity for those attending the Mosque to glve Donaiion and we arrange its distribution for approved purposes. The
Donation Committee of the Mosque collects and dlstrlbute5 the Donation, none of which is used to fund the Mosque. The
Mosque make no charge for the colleclion and distribution of Donation.
FiFfuRE PLANS
The commlttee along wlth the community and the irustee's intend to buy the bulldln8 of the Mosque we also planing èddlng
lift to the buildlng. Currently rent Is paid via the M05ques Friday's 8lvins'5 and other generous contribution for the Mosque.
We Intend malntaln our existing range of community activlties working In partnership with rhe community and to furrher
develop our communlty pfoiects in co11otsoratlon Leicester City Council. We contlnue to plgce great importance on sharlng a
good understanding of Islam with non.Muslim neighbours whSlst gaining an understanding of thelr culture and iradbtlons.

RESERVE POUCY
The charity reserve5 policy Is to malntain unrestricted funds at a level which equates to approximately twelve months
unrestricted expenditure. This provides suff icient funds to cover managernent, adminiSlTation and support Costs.
RISK MANAGEMENT
The trustee5 actively review the major risks which the charity faces on a re8ulaY basis and believe that rnaintainin8 the free
reserves at the levels stated above will give enough reseurces in the event Df adverse conditions. Sy51ems are in place to
mitl8ate our exposure to major ri5k5.
