FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 JANUARY 2025
Ne have examined the financial statements for the year ended 31 January 2025, comprising
the income and expenditure account and the statement of assets and liabilities, together with
e statement of financial activities.
Respectiv• responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of accourrts. The charity's
memtsers consider that an audit is not requTred for this year under section 144 of the
Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act) and that an independent examination is needed.
It is our responsibilrty to:
' examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act.
• to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charit
Commission (under section 145(5)(b) of the Chartiies Act). and
. to state whether particular matters have come to our attenucy:.
Basi$ of independent examiners report
Our examination was carried out in accordan￿ ￿1th the General Direclions given by the
Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by
the Ghartty and a c￿7panS0n of the accounts presented wth those records. It also
includes consideration of any unusual items or dixaosures in the accounts, and seektng
8x￿anatIOnS from trustees con￿mIng such matters. The procedures undertaken do nol
provide all the evIder￿e that wDuld be required in an audit, . and consequently no opinion
is given as to whether the accounts present a Irue and fairf view and the report is limlted
to those matters set out in the ststement below.
This report is made to you in accordan￿ with the terms of our engagement and for no oth8r
purpose. To the fullest extent pemiitted by law. do not accept or assume responsibility to
anyone other than the trustees. for our work or for this report.
Independent examinerfs statement
In connection with our examination, no matter has come to our attention:
l. which gives us reasonable cause to believe that in. any material respect. the
requirements:
to keep accounting records in accordan￿ with section 130 of the Charities
to prepare accounts which accord ￿ryth the accounting records and comply
th the accounting requirements of the Charities Act and the Regulations
have not been met. or
2. to which. in my opinion. attenb.on should be dr￿ in order to enable a proper
understanding of the ac￿Unts to be reached.

The Charity's Objectives
To help preserve health through prevention, detection and treatment of breast dis¢ase in men and women in
Bristol and sumiunding areas by providing, or &8sisting in the provision of equipment, facilities or services, and
any other such charitable ca￿Se that the tnjstees see fit.
The Charity's Main Activities
BUST is now in its 33rd year and has rnised £4,374,881.15 to 31° January 2025. We continue to spend less
than on¢ per cent on expenses. Our total income for this year is £68,887.79.
The Tn￿teeS have considered the Charity Commission's Guidance on public benefit reporting, and we can
confirni that all the fundraising activities that the Charity h&s been involved in are for the benefit of the public
(in this case patients both male and female) who attend the Breast Centre each year for treatment breast
abnonnalities.
The Committee (we are a small committee of forn]er patients, relatives of patients, and Consultants from the
Breast Care Centre) accept many invitations to talk about bre&st cancer in men and women. We attend Church
groups, RotarAans, Women's Institute, Aithus, BT, Well Women Clinics and many other events. We receive
donations from patients for the Charity which will be spent on medical equipment for the Centre.
Achievements and Performance
The charity has continued to pursue its main task of fundraising to help buy new technology to improve patient
care. It will also continue to attend and repr¢sent patients, interests at the Bristol Breast Care Centre. We
provide our experience in looking from a patient's pers￿Ctive at new research items and publications.

The trustees recognjse their responsibilities for keeping proper accounting records and pryaring fmancial
statements eacb year. The appended accounts were prepared on the Teceipts and payments basis and were
cxamincd by an Independent Account, whose report is also appended.
