The Charlty's Objects
To help preserve he8lth through prevention, detection and treatment of breast disease in men and women in Bristol
and surrounding areas by providing, or assisting Én the provision of equipment, facilitie5 or services, and any other
such charitable cause that the trustees see fit,
Th¢ Charity's Main Activities
BUST is now in its 31st year and has raised £2,089.930.53 to 31" January 2023. We continue to sp¢nd less than
on¢ per cent on expenses. Our total income for this year is £54,246.02.
The Trustees have considered thc Charity Commission's Guidance on public benefit reporting, and we &gn
confirm that all the fundraising activities that the Charity has been involved in are for the benefit of the public (in
this Lase palienls both malc and fcmale) who attend the Br￿st Ccntrc each year for trcatment b￿ast abnomalities.
Our BUST Members group of patients nomally meets at the Breast Centre inside the Southmead Hospital Bristol.
Due to the Covid pandemic we have not been able to meeL
The Committee (we are eight volunteerlpatients) accept many invitstions to talk about breasl cancer in men and
women. We nom)ally attend Church groups, Rotarians, Women'5 Institute, Airbus- talking to men. Well Women
Clinics for full days where our intention is not to fundraise but to educaie and infom) and support patients
following Ireatment for Breast Cancer. But again, this has not been tK)ssible although we have started to see more
filndraising events tskinB place.
We still receive donations from patients for the Charity which will be spent on medical equipment for the Centre.
We look forward to a better time for all Charities and NHS staff.
Achievements and Performan¢e
This continues to be a difficult time for the Bust Charity, &$ we have been unable to meet regularly due to the
Covid pandemic and several fundraising events could not take place. We have, however, continued to r¢ceiv¢
money from very grateful patients and have seen fundraising events startin8 up again.

When we are able. the charity will continue to pursue its main task of fundraising to help buy new technology to
improve patient care. It will also continue to attend and represent patients, interests at the Bristol Breast Care
Centre. We provide our experience in looking from a patient's perspective at new research items and publications.
BUST is continuing its aim to purchase an MIU scanner or other needed medical equipment for the Breast Centre
which will support patients.
Truslees, Responsibilities
The trustees recognise their responsibilities for keeping proper accounting records and p￿parIng financial
statements each year. The appended accounts were prepared on the receipts and payments basis and were
examined by an Independent Account, whose report is also appended.
The trustees declare that they have approved the trustees report above.
