ANNUAL REPORT PIERS HARRINGTON FOUNDATION – 2024-25

The following commitments were made in 2024/25. These commitments align with the aims of the charity which are to focus:

On a mixture of Individual Respite (the founding reason for the Foundation);

Provide funding to organisations that support people with Motor Disorders, focusing on ‘non-curricular/quality of life activities.

Providing support to Juveniles and Young Adults with Cerebral Palsy.

Income . £51476.85

Expenditure . The funding ratios would remain fluid and projects in the above categories would be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Playaway Individuals – 2024
Programme
£750 Agreed to provide assistance to
individual families who struggle
to fund their personal
contribution.
Playaway Organisation £10000 Playaway provides holiday
programmes for children and
young adults with complex
motor disorders. Piers was
supported by this programme.
Playaway raises money from
Donor Trusts to fund 2/3rds of
the cost of each place
generated. The agreed sum of
£10000 will fund a total of 14
places in 2025. It was agreed to
continue to support this for
subsequent years.
PACE Transition Organsiation 8000
To provide resources to support
parents who need to establish
robust agreements and support
arrangements when leaving
PACE for another setting.
PACE Minibus Organsiation 2000
To help support the running
costs of the PACE minibus,
which provides invaluable
access to external events for
children and young adults to
attend.
Wizz Kids Organsiation 3000 To help support the provision of
mobility equipment designed to
support those with complex
motor disorders.
Dogs for Good Organsiation 2000 Towards the cost of training a
Dog to support those with
Complex Motor Disorders.
Soundabout Organsiation 2000 Towards music programmes that
provide invaluable support to
those with complex motor
disorders.
NICE Adults Organsiation 2000 To support the ongoing costs for
the Adult programmes for those
with complex motor disorders, in
line with the age Piers would
have been.
David Ussher Individual 1500 David has complex motor
disorders and significantly
benefits from the music therapy
he attends. PHF have agreed to
fund the annual cost of this
Therapy.
Heather Last individual 2000 Former Director and Founder of
PACE who directly supported
Piers at PACE School.
Heathers unique methodology is
transformational and PHF
wanted to support Heather in
creating a usable manual for
others to develop their
knowledge and adopt the best
practices she has developed.
This first payment is part of the
Phase 1 scoping and
development task. A total of
£7000is agreedforthis phase.
