The Dwyriw Community Trust Fund received a total of £31,806.52 from the Mynydd Clogau and Tir Gwynt wind farms, to be spent over the 2024/25 period.
In total, £34,898.27 was given out in grants in response to 28 applications received over the year.
Adfa Village Hall was given a grant to renovate the back room and Llanwyddelan Church was helped with the cost of work to the bell tower. Adfa Chapel received funds to provide a Broadband connection and Llanllugan Church was promised a grant towards the cost of providing a compost toilet.
Dwyriw Community Council was granted funds to pay for new play equipment in Adfa Play Area and for re-surfacing the car park at the burial ground in Llanllugan.
Local community groups the Adfa and Cefn Coch WI, Adfa Garden Club and the Cefn Coch ATB were all were awarded grants to help with the costs of their activities.
Over the course of the year 12 students were helped with costs associated with their studies. Five were given grants of £750 for studying away from home, five received £500 for studying at home and two were given a grant of £500 to help support the cost of private tuition. A young person was also given a grant to help buy equipment to support their learning.
Three local people were helped with the cost of training courses and two were given grants to help with starting new businesses. One family was given support with a grant to help with the cost of school transport.
A grant was also given to New Mills Village Hall for electrical work which would support the local people that use that hall.
