The trustees have adopted the provisions of Accounting and Reporting: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to Charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019) This is the seventeenth year that the society has existed as a company. ## **Objectives and aims** The objects are to promote for the benefit of the public, agriculture, horticulture, forestry, and rural crafts and skills in all their branches by the improvement of livestock including horses and the demonstration and showing of livestock, machinery, crafts, products, methods and processes connected with agriculture and agricultural education The principal activity of the company is that of operating as an agricultural society and the organising of the fundraising events to help finance the annual show. The society also distributed some of any surplus to local charities. The company was set up in October 2006 to take over the activities, which had existed for many years. ## **Volunteers** Whilst the trustees approve the direction of the society, especially the annual show, it relies on the work of the committee members to set up the show. A major objective of using volunteers is to involve as many of the local community as possible ## **The DIRECTORS OF THE COMPANY** The Directors who served throughout the year for the company were as follows: Robert Sheffield Susan Bracewell Geoffrey Singleton Lynn Wagstaff ## **Reserves policy** It is the policy of the company to maintain unrestricted funds to cover the cost of days cancelled due to bad weather **CHARITY** The society is registered with the Charity Commission ## **SMALL COMPANY PROVISIONS** The report has been prepared in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime within part 15 of the companies act 2006. It was entitled to exemption from audit under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.
