The charity is governed by a Constitution. 

How the charity is constituted: Association. 

Trustee appointment and induction: 

Trustees are appointed by the Executive Committee in accordance with the Constitution. As of July 2024, a new Executive Committee was formed to replace the transitional committee that had been in place since March 2020. 

The Executive Committee consists of between six and ten members, including Honorary OfZicers (Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer and General Secretary), elected members, and co-opted members. 

The trustees are aware of their responsibilities and regularly review governance arrangements to ensure compliance with charity law and best practice. 

## **Sec$on C – Objec$ves and Ac$vi$es** 

Objectives of the charity: 

The objectives of the charity, as set out in the governing document, are: 

- To advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the object of improving conditions of life for persons in the Warrington area, in particular but not exclusively persons of the Islamic faith and their families. 

- To promote equality and diversity by working towards the elimination of racial discrimination and to promote equality of opportunity and good relations between persons of different racial groups in the Warrington area. 

- To relieve poverty of persons in the Warrington area, wider society and elsewhere in the world. 

## Public beneZit: 

The trustees conZirm that they have had due regard to the guidance on public beneZit issued by the Charity Commission in exercising their powers and duties. 

In furtherance of these objectives, the charity has undertaken activities including education provision, community engagement, interfaith work, charitable fundraising, and welfare support. 



## **Sec$on D – Achievements and Performance** 

During the reporting period, Warrington Islamic Association continued to serve the local community through religious, educational, charitable, and social activities. 

Key achievements during the year included continued delivery of Islamic education for children and young people, adult learning programmes, interfaith engagement initiatives, and charitable appeals responding to humanitarian crises both locally and internationally. 

The charity also maintained its ongoing support for refugees and asylum seekers in Warrington through the provision of essential items and community assistance. 

## **Sec$on E – Financial Review** 

## Reserves policy: 

The trustees aim to maintain sufZicient unrestricted reserves to meet day-to-day operational requirements and unforeseen circumstances. The charity does not hold excessive reserves. 

## Funding: 

The charity’s principal sources of income are individual donations, weekly collections, and fundraising campaigns throughout the year, particularly during the month of Ramadan. 

Expenditure is applied in furtherance of the charity’s objectives as outlined above. 

## **Sec$on F – Other Op$onal Informa$on** 

The trustees recognise the valuable contribution made by volunteers in supporting the activities and services of the charity throughout the year.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended **31 / 03 / 2025** . 

- **Responsibilities and** As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation **basis of report** of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). 

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
