The Trustees are pleased to present their report together with the financial ststernents of the charity for
the period ending 31 December 2024.
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies set out in Note
1 to the accounts and comply with the Company's Memorandum and Articles of Association, the special
provisions of Part 15 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies. the Charities (Accounts
and Reports) Regulations 2008. the Charities Act 2011 and Accounting and Reporting by Charities:
Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with
the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland issued on 16 July 2014
(FRS 102).

Objectives and Activities in the Directors, Report:
The objective of the charity is to promote sustainable healthcare in Burkina Faso.
The Eureka polyclinic in Bobo Dioulasso is now in its tenth year of operation and has been profitable
since 2020. The next Step of the development program is to build out surgical capacity. The Trustees
continue to work closely with the team at Eureka and are targeting an investment of approximately
750,000 to fund this development, financed from a combination of donations and local bank debt. This
process has taken considerably longer than anticipated. not least owing to the local political conditions.
but the directors remain confjdent of being able to conclude the process in the coming months.
Financial Revlew:
BHF'S principal donors in 2024 were the Trustees.
Reserves and Rlsk Management:
A prudent approach is adopted towards the management of reserves; all projects are fully funded.

Trustees, responsiblllties in relation to the financial statements:
The Trustees are responsible for preparing the annual report and financial statements in accordance
with applicable law and United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice.
Company law requires the Trustees to prepare financial statements that give a true and fair view of the
state of affairs of the charity at the end of Ihe financial period and of its surplus or deficit for the financial
period. In doing so the Trustees are required to..
select suitable aGGounting policies and then apply them consistently.,
make sound judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent: and
prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is appropriate to do
Othe￿iSe.
The Trustees are responsible for maintaining proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable
accuracy at any lime the financial position of the charity and enables them to ensure that the financial
statements comply with the Companies Act 2006. The Trustees are also responsible for safeguarding
the assets of the charity and for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and
other irregularities.
In accordance with company law, as the company's Directors we certify thal so far as we are aware the
above has been complied with.

For the period ended 31 December 2024 the company was entitled to exemption from audit under
section 477(2) of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.
The members have not required the company to obtain an audit of its accounts for the period in question
in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.
The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for ensuring that the company keeps accounting records
which comply with section 386 of the Act and for preparing accounts which give a true and fair view of
the state of affairs of the company as at the end of the financial period and of its incoming resources
and application of resources, including its income and expenditure, for the financial period in accordance
with the requirements of sections 393 and which olherwise comply wilh the requirements of the
Companies Act 2006 relating to accounts, so far as applicable to the company.
These accounts have been delivered in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject
to the small companies, regime.

Accounting policies
(a) Basis of preparation
The accounts (financial statements) have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of the
Companies Act 2006 and the Financial Reporting Standard for Smaller Entities under the
historical cost convention with items recognised at cost or transaction value unless otherwise
ststed in the relevant note to these accounts. The financial slatements have been prepared in
accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice..
Accounting and Reporting by
Charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable
in Ihe UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 1021 issued on 16 July 2014 and FRS 102 and the
Charities Act 2011.
In preparing these accounts the directors have considered whether in applying the accounting
policies required by FRS 102 and the Charities SORP FRS 102 a restatement of comparative
figures was needed. No such restatements were required.
The Company has taken advantage of a number of disclosure exemptions permitted by FRS 102.
The Company constitutes a public benefit entity as defined by FRS 102.
The directors consider that there are no material uncertainties about the Company's ability to
continue as a going concern.
(b) Incoming resources
Voluntary income including donations, gifts and legacies and grants that provide core funding or
are of a general nature are recognised where there is entitlement. certainty of receipt and that the
amount can be measured with sufficient reliability.
{c) Resources expended
Expenditure is recognised when a liability is incurred.
Legal status
The charity is a company limited by guarantee and has no share capital. The liability of each
member in the event of a winding up is limited to £1.00.
Grants and donations
There were several donations in the year, some ofwhich were significant.
Employees
There are no full time or part tim8 employees working for the charity.
Reimbursements
The Trustees were not paid or reimbursed expenses during the year and no Trustee received
any emolument or payment for professional or other services.
