## Fundraising:

There have been no specific fundraising activities during 2022, again because of the uncertainty of being able to carry them out. Preliminary discussions took place regarding staging a significant fund-raising event in 2023, by which time it was expected that there would be more certainty regarding the status of the pandemic.

Trustees’ Report For the Year Ended 31st December 2022

We welcomed another volunteer to the group who was interested in helping the charity in whatever capacity she could. She is a professional business development expert, and event organiser, and will be an asset to the group. She has volunteered to assist with a significant fundraising event in 2023.

## Financial Review

At the year-end, we held bank and cash balances of £118,692 all of which is unrestricted funds. These funds are held for the sole purpose of allowing us to continue our work, to consistently support future medical/surgical trips. We expect to continue to maintain a minimum balance of £60,000 in monetary reserves to ensure that at least 2 future trips’ expenses are covered to the same standard as previously.

We are wholly reliant for our funding on donations and money raised from fund-raising events.

As in all previous reports, all trustees give of their time free-of-charge. No trustees receive any remuneration for their contributions, including the surgical team.

## Public benefit

The Trustees have given due consideration to the Charity Commission published Guidance on the Operation of the Public Benefit Requirement and believe that the provision of the recreational facilities of the club as stated in the objectives of the charity, meet the requirements.

Following on from last year’s report, there was no requirement to formally amend the Objectives, as originally expected. The current objectives are fully compliant with the charity’s work.
