I. Mission
Daru Al-Moameneen (DALMO) aims to empower and enable the Muslim Community in South Gloucestershire and the surrounding areas to achieve excellence in their duties and for advancement in educational, social, and cultural affairs for the well-being of the individual and the society.
II. Events and Activities
The following summarises developments during this financial year:

(1) Have been enabling the local Muslim Community in Bradley Stoke and surrounding areas by attending to answering (to the best available resources) their spiritual needs through daily and Friday prayers, Eid prayers, Collective Iftars and Taraweeh prayer in Ramadhan, and Arabic and Islamic educational needs. These remain amongst our key objectives to attain along with fit-for-purpose activities aligned with our mission.

(2) Continued to excel in formal Arabic education in our DALMO Arabic and Islamic School (DAIS) with in person teaching supported by e-learning environment to DAIS students through a dedicated Information Technology Support (ITS) team headed by the Deputy Head of School ITS, in full collaboration with our School’s Deputy Heads of Academic Affairs, Administration and Operations, and Legal and Finance. Teaching delivery has been linked to curricula developed for Arabic and non-Arabic speaking children taught by our enthusiastic teachers with dedicated syllabi aligned to the learning outcomes of the targeted agegroups and abilities.
The focus for the children who attend these in-person classes is on learning the following:

(a) Develop basic, moderate and advanced knowledge of the Arabic Language, speaking, reading and writing.

(b) Recite the Holy Qur’an with correct pronunciation - and as possible (age-group wise) to apply the rules of Tajweed reading, and develop understanding of some of the - 3 -

chapters and/or verses of the Holy Qur’an depending on age and abilities; and

(c) Islamic Beliefs, Fiqh, Manners, and Ethics.

(3) DALMO formal Membership continued to expand with Muslim families joining irrespective of race, ethnicity, language, and/or background, and thus contributing to the empowerment of the Muslim Community in South Gloucestershire and surrounding areas.

(4) Arranging and managing religious, cultural, and social festivities:

(a) Holding the Eid Al-fitr and Eid Al-Adha prayers for all members of the Muslim Community not only from South Gloucestershire but also beyond.

(b) Community members including men, women, and children attended Eid Al-fitr and Eid Al-Adha prayers, with celebrations afterwards, and prizes awarded to children who won the DALMO Arabic and Islamic School (DAIS) Holy Qur’an Competition.

(c) Teachers of DAIS were specially greeted and presented with complimentary gifts for their remarkable contribution to learning and teaching of DAIS students.

(d) South Gloucestershire Council has generous in considering our organisation as a partner organization and thus we have been receiving respective discount on venue hiring through Thornbury Lifestyle Centre.

(e) Collective Iftars were held during the Holy Month of Ramadhan with arrangements for the Iftar dinners after breaking the fast, in certain days, as per contribution from family members of the Muslim community attending Maghreb congregation prayers.
