Mission** Daru Al-Moameneen (DALMO) aims to empower and enable the Muslim Community in South Gloucestershire and the surrounding areas in order to achieve excellence in their duties and for advancement in educational, social, and cultural affairs for the wellbeing of the individual and the society. ## **II. Events and Activities** The following summarises developments during this financial year : - (1) Have been enabling the local Muslim Community in Bradley Stoke and surrounding areas by attending to answering (to the best available resources) their spiritual needs through daily and Friday prayers, Eid prayers, Taraweeh prayer in Ramadhan, and Arabic and Islamic educational needs. These remain amongst our key objectives to attain along with fit-for-purpose activities aligned with our mission. - (2) Facilitating sporting activities for all age groups of DALMO Members including DALMO women and children were stopped due several circumstances, and through the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope to take a critical review next year to replan such activities, in light of availed resources. - (3) Continued to excel in formal Arabic education in our DALMO Arabic and Islamic School (DAIS) despite some COVID-19 lockdowns with the move to partial online delivery (taking health and safety as of utmost priority to our community) through a dedicated Information Technology Support (ITS) team headed by the Deputy Head of School ITS, in full collaboration with our School’s Deputy Heads of Academic Affairs, Administration and Operations, and Legal and Finance. Separate Online classes and associated curricula had been developed for Arabic and non-Arabic speaking children taught by our enthusiastic teachers with dedicated syllabi aligned to the learning outcomes of the targeted age-groups and abilities. - 3 - **DALMO Trustees Report 1st April 2021 – 31st March 2022 Registered Charity Number 1116416** **DALMO Trustees Report 1[st] April 2021 – 31[st] March 2022 Registered Charity Number 1116416** The focus for the children who attended these online classes had been on learning the following: - (a) Understanding of the Arabic Language; - (b) Correct pronunciation for the recitation of the Holy Qur’an, reading and understanding depending on age and abilities; and - (c) Islamic beliefs, manners, and ethics. - (4) DALMO formal Membership continued to expand with Muslim families joining irrespective of race, ethnicity, language, and/or background, and thus contributing to the empowerment of the Muslim Community in South Gloucestershire and surrounding areas. - (5) Arranging and managing religious, cultural, and social festivities had been well-managed despite the COVID-19 implications with very precious support from South Gloucestershire Council providing partner organisation backing to hold the Eid Al-fiter and Eid Al-Adha occasions with very stringent risk management plan.
