3 Oblectl¥es of the Instltute
The objects of the Inst￿Ute are to encoura8e and advance the rehabllltatlon of those sufferln8 from the effects of stroke,
•nd other braln InSurles whlch have resulted In partlal paralysls. Partlcularly bv the physlcal tralnln8 of patlents who requlre
recovery programrnes. Such tralnln8 attempts to enable those who have suffered braln Injurles pro8resslvely to recover
movement, balance, physlcal stren8th and Confidence. The Instltute also promotes awareness of the stroke and brain
Injurles to the public.

The Trustees conflrm that they have tsken due regard to the 8uldance published by the Charlty Commlssion on public
benefft. The Trustees are a strong team wlth the necessary complementary skllls to enable the Insthute to be effectlve.
Prolects and the necessary fundin8 are sou8ht whlch wlll advance the ablllty for the Instltute to be effertlve In pro¥ldln8
methods for members of the publlc to attaln effectlve rehabilltatlon after •¢quired or traumatlc brain Injury.
5 Revlew of Artlvltles
In the UK stroke is the bl88est dlsabler of all and can happen to anyone at any tlme. 150,(M)O people suffer a stroke
8nnually and there are over a million people Ilvin8 wlth the effects of stroke. The ARNI (Action for Rehabilltation from
Neurdogical Injury) Instltute Charlty provldes an essential national community-inte8ratlon pathway and support network
for people after hospltal discharge. whlch comes sometlmes after just slx weeks. The Charlty matches survlvors wlth Its
specialist therapists and instructors who then help to rehabilitate over the long-term. The Charlty has measured Impact in
terms of efficacy.. Exeter University. Brunel University and Bri8hton & Sussex Medlcal School research teams have carried
out randomlsed controlled trials which show that the team of over 140 ARNI profe55ional tralner5 and therapists are being
effecttve In dramatically cuttin8 costs In terms of ambulance call-outs and hire of carers. Further. that stroke and acquired
njury patients who use the ARNI 5ervlce Improve $18nlflcantly In terms of mobility. ran8e of movement, artlon control,
strength, confidence and quality of lrfe.. and most often reduce the reqU1￿ment for carers and physlcal assistors.

I report on the accounts of the charlty for the year ended 31st March 2024 whlch are set out on pages I to 4.

The charlty's trustees are responslble for the preparatlon of the accounts. The charlty's trustees conslder
that an audlt Is not requlred for thls year under sectlon 14412} of the Charltles Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) arbd
that an Independent examlnatlon Is needed.

examlnatlon Includes a revlew of the accountln8 records kept by the charlty and a comparlson of the accounts
presented wlth those re￿rds. It Includes a conslderallon of any unusual Items or dlsclosures In the accounts,
and seekln8 explanatlons from the trustees concernlng any 5uth matters, The procedures undertaken do not
provlde all the evldence that would be requlred in an audit. and consequently no oplnlon 1$ 8Sven as to
whether the accounts present a 'true and falr vlew" and the report Is Ilmlted to those matters set out In the
statement below.

to keep accounting records in accordance wltth section 130 of the 2011 Act; and
