TRUSTEES' REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31st DECEMBER 2025
The Trustees present their report and the financial statements of the charity for the year ended 31st DECEMBER 2025. The trustees have adopted the provisions of the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) “Accounting and Reporting by Charities” (FRS 102) in preparing the annual report and financial statements of the charity.
1. TRUSTEES OF THE CHARITY
The directors of the charitable company are its trustees for the purposes of charity law. The trustees who have served during the year were as below
Laurence Singlehurst (Chair) Mark Greenwood David Oludoyi Pauline Mack Rev Nigel Coles Susan Legg
2. OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
The principal object of the charity is to advance the Christian faith in the UK and overseas.
The aim of HOPE is to encourage the diverse range of churches across the United Kingdom to engage in word and action community mission amongst the 65 million residents.
The ongoing work is intensified to build around the Christian calendar and to communicate the Gospel of Jesus Christ through word and actions, creating a lasting legacy of both physical and spiritual change in individual lives and communities.
The work of Hope is being financed by a large number of personal supporters and Trusts who have a particular interest in the success of mission. In addition the mainstream churches are supporting the work financially both locally and at national level. While fundraising is important it is the aim of Hope to keep the central office small and administratively efficient.
The Trustees would like to thank all the people who have joined in again by giving sacrificially to Hope both financially prayerfully and physically. Special mention needs to be given to all the thousands of volunteers around the nation who are again rising to the challenge of embedding mission in our communities.
3. PUBLIC BENEFIT STATEMENT
When planning our activities for the year, the trustees have considered the Commission's guidance on public benefit and in particular the specific guidance on charities for the advancement of religion.
4. Hope Together 2025 End of Year Report
2025 was a year of bold faith and extraordinary fruit. Against a backdrop of spiritual hunger in the younger generations Hope Together focussed with a clear target to help that generation receive a gospel in a language and design that would help them discover Jesus Christ. In total Hope together distributed 265,723 resources and connected with mission-minded leaders and evangelists across the UK to grow Hope Together's influence and increase the movement for evangelism in the UK.

The Great Gospel Giveaway
Hope Together’s vision for 2025 was focussed and research based. In the light of the growing openness of the younger generations to spirituality, the Christian faith and the Bible we sharpened our aim to get as many gospels - the life of Jesus - into as many people's hands as possible. Our original goal was for 30,000 Gospels to be given out but fuelled by momentum, we raised the target mid-year to 100,000. The final count? 143,145 Gospels, 124,411 more than the previous year. We smashed our target and pray that this leads to many more people meeting Jesus in the word.
The research backed the vision. Talking Jesus, research delivered in partnership by Hope Together, showed one in three non-Christians who talk with a Christian want to find out more about Jesus, rising to nearly one in two for younger generations. Bible Society’s Quiet Revival research (2025) confirms one in four people would give the Bible a try, and one in three young people are open to reading it. When Hope Together presented these findings in inspirational talks across the UK and maximised their social media and communication platforms to spread the message, openness turned into action.
The stories were remarkable. During The Scattering, a Mission Week with The Message Trust, a volunteer who had been cooking all week for the young people was feeling rather deflated, so she treated herself to an Uber home. She and the driver got chatting and she explained what she had been up to all week. He excitedly explained that his wife had walked through our “applause tunnel,” that had been created by the Scattering young people and had come home smiling with a Hope Together gospel in her hands. For the first time in months while battling depression, she hadn’t stopped reading the Gospel they’d given her. “What’s it about?” he asked. The volunteer cook turned evangelist and shared Jesus. By the end of the journey, the driver gave his life to Christ.
In East London, Pastor Mike Sohn led Reality Church London on the streets during London Mission Week with customised IWitness Gospels. Most had never done anything like it. They expected rejection and found openness; people willing to talk, ask questions, and take Gospels home. “You

don’t need all the answers,” Mike reflected. “What matters most is a genuine love for Jesus and for the people you’re speaking to.”
Special & Customised Gospels
Hope Together specializes in turning cultural moments into missional moments. For the 80th anniversary of WWII, we produced a commemorative Gospel of John partnering with the Naval and Military Bible Society and pairing with a Lumo Project film telling the story of Private John Borland through his daughter Margaret. The response was overwhelming: 69,921 copies were distributed. For London Mission Week, we printed 10,000 customised IWitness Gospels of Mark with local imagery, 7,103 distributed. We also produced 10,000 customised Gospels for Beeston Oasis Church, demonstrating the power of community-level customisation. Our partnership with the Lumo Project now embeds QR codes in Gospel resources linking to powerful Scripture films, letting readers watch the story come alive.
Talking Jesus Research & Course
The Talking Jesus research continues to underpin everything we do. In 2025, 1,418 printed reports were distributed, and the planned research expansion is on track for delivery in 2027. The Talking Jesus Course equipped even more believers, with 2,413 workbooks distributed, up 22% from 2024.
Talking Toddlers
A milestone year: the full revisit of the 2019 Talking Toddlers research was completed and launched in the November Talking Toddlers webinar. The final written report is set to publish early 2026, just in time for the March webinar. Termly webinars continued equipping toddler-group leaders to make the most of this strategic mission field.
Easter & ALIVE Series
ALIVE continued powerfully into its second year: 125 series purchased, an estimated 500+ events run, and 15,653 newspapers distributed by churches for Easter outreach.
God’s Big Story Series
10,202 God’s Big Story books reached families, toddler groups, and children’s ministries, continuing to plant seeds of faith in the youngest hearts across the UK.
Amplify
Amplify continued investing in the next generation of evangelists through mentoring, coaching, and practical support , empowering 150 young people to lead outreach in schools and communities with courage and creativity.
Christmas at Hope Together 2025
Christmas remained a cornerstone of missional opportunity, and 2025 saw Hope Together’s strongest festive offering yet. Dr. Rachel Jordan-Wolf’s Gift of Christmas continued as a cherished resource, with 4,683 copies distributed. Over 83,400 HOPE for All Christmas magazines reached homes, services, and gift bags across the UK. Our Go Chatter partnership delivered 755 Lego Christmas cards to engage younger generations.
The standout new addition was the Christmas Edition Gospel of Luke, a beautifully designed, giftable Gospel created specifically for the festive season. With 19,415 copies sold, it proved there is real hunger for high-quality, accessible Scripture people feel proud to give away at Christmas. Combined with our other Gospel editions, Christmas 2025 demonstrated that when we put beautiful resources into the hands of churches, they run with them.

Looking Ahead
As 2025 closed, opportunity was everywhere. Bible sales are rising nationally, openness to faith is growing, especially among younger generations, and churches are gaining fresh confidence to step out in mission. Hope Together began sharing the Adopt a Bench campaign, launching fully in 2026, as another creative, culturally resonant way to open doors for the Gospel in local communities.
The planned Talking Jesus research expansion will deliver fresh insights in 2027, and the updated Talking Toddlers research report will be published early in 2026. With Gospel distribution momentum building and new partnerships deepening, including with the Lumo Project, the foundations for even greater impact are firmly in place.
Conclusion
2025 proved again that a small, focused team can achieve outsized impact. 265,723 resources. 143,145 Gospels, a 664% increase. We prioritise agility and collaboration, staying lean to respond quickly and maximise missional opportunities. By partnering with churches, organisations, and communities, we extend our reach and multiply our impact. People are more open than ever. The door is wide. Our ongoing mission remains: to equip and encourage as many believers and churches as possible to live out the vision to see Everyone, Everywhere, Knowing Jesus.
5. STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
The board administers the charity and meets at least three times per year. Trustees are required to stand down in rotation as specified in the Memorandum and Articles of Association.
I am pleased to report that the Directors/Trustees and members of the Leadership Team met formally nine times during 2025, to develop the ongoing vision and strategy for Hope 08 Ltd.
6. FINANCIAL REVIEW (INCLUDING RESERVES POLICY)
The Charity had a deficit for the year of £111,298 (2024 - deficit £2,024). Its unrestricted reserves stood at £160,658 (2024 £201,636) at the year-end. Its designated reserves stood at £16,877 (2024 £87,197) at the year-end.
The trustees recognise that three months operating costs would be ideal on an ongoing basis and have achieved that. However, the nature of the charity is faith based and we expect full provision for our needs, but equally are wise about correct stewardship of God's money. That said, the Trustees are pleased to report that sufficient funds have been provided and a surplus can be carried forward into 2026 to create a secure financial base.
7. RISK STATEMENT
Systems of internal control, designed to provide reasonable assurance against material misstatement or loss, include:
-
regular consideration by the trustees of financial results and activities
-
delegation of authority and, where possible, segregation of duties
-
Identification and management of risks.
In addition, the trustees have a risk management strategy and register, which comprises:
-
an annual review of the risks the charity may face;
-
the establishment of systems and procedures to mitigate those risks identified in the plan; and,
7
Hope 08 Ltd (limited by guarantee and not having a share capital)
- The implementation of procedures designed to minimise any potential impact on the charity should those risks materialise.

NOTES TO THE ACCOUNTS -FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31st DECEMBER 2025
Income recognition
All incoming resources are included in the Statement of Financial Activities (SoFA) when the charity is legally entitled to the income after any performance conditions have been met, the amount can be measured reliably and it is probable that the income will be received.
For donations to be recognised the charity will have been notified of the amounts and the settlement date in writing. If there are conditions attached to the donation and this requires a level of performance before entitlement can be obtained then income is deferred until those conditions are fully met or the fulfilment of those conditions is within the control of the charity and it is probable that they will be fulfilled.
No amount is included in the financial statements for volunteer time in line with the SORP (FRS 102). Further detail is given in the Trustees’ Annual Report.
Income from trading activities includes income earned from fundraising events and trading activities to raise funds for the charity. Income is received in exchange for supplying goods and services in order to raise funds and is recognised when entitlement has occurred.
Expenditure recognition
All expenditure is accounted for on an accruals basis and has been classified under headings that aggregate all costs related to the category. Expenditure is recognised where there is a legal or constructive obligation to make payments to third parties, it is probable that the settlement will be required and the amount of the obligation can be measured reliably. It is categorised under the headings as set out in note 2. Irrecoverable VAT is charged as an expense against the activity for which expenditure arose.
Tangible fixed assets
The trustees have reviewed the accounting policy for fixed assets and consider that the capitalisation level is set at £5,000. Other assets purchased are taken at cost in the year of acquisition and no provision is made for depreciation.
Stocks
Stocks are stated at the lower of cost and estimated selling price less costs to complete and sell. Cost includes all costs of purchase, costs of conversion and other costs incurred in bringing stock to its present location and condition. Provision is made for damaged, obsolete and slow-moving stock where appropriate.
Debtors and creditors receivable / payable within one year
Debtors and creditors with no stated interest rate and receivable or payable within one year are recorded at transaction price. Any losses arising from impairment are recognised in expenditure.
Tax
The charity is an exempt charity within the meaning of schedule 3 of the Charities Act 2011 and is considered to pass the tests set out in Paragraph 1 Schedule 6 Finance Act 2010 and therefore it meets the definition of a charitable company for UK corporation tax purposes.
