## Trustees Activity Report

## LEOT School

The school year for LEOT students finishes in May. Our teachers remained busy preparing lessons for local Primary School teachers in basic English. This year

Lessons were held over four
weeks with classes on vocabulary and spoken English. Our teachers enjoyed a
five-week break before starting new classes for disadvantaged students in
September.
**----- End of picture text -----**
We were pleased to run a total of 8 daily courses for beginner and elementary English and IT studies together with lunchtime courses in hospitality English and our Dream Catcher career development course. We also invested 5,000 dollars in a new course making an Environmental garden as part of a new Environmental course. We also recognised the need to run weekend courses for students unable to attend school during the week and successfully ran

courses in both English and IT at the weekend. School facilities were also improved with the creation of a small classroom in the entrance hall.

Jok handover

The community Schoo! building programme had another successful year with the completion of Xang School and the building of schools for Hoana and Jok villages We also built a fence for Hadpang School and completed repairs to Samphan Sai and Siegman Schools.

A grant was given to Chomphet District to support an emergency following the loss of the rice crop due to flooding.

## Sewing

lt was a year of highs and great lows for our sewing school. We ran a total of four classes at beginner and advanced level for our students and made equipment grants of over 5,800 dollars to students setting up their own workshops, We considered our courses were very successful with our students gaining improved skills, jobs and opening small workshops. Sadly, the Department of Education did not like the methods of our manger Noy and decided the schoo! must close unless she was replaced. The LEOT Trustees did not agree and considered Noy to be a very talented leader delivering exceptional results. The school was required to close at the end of June 2025, removing a very important resource for disadvantaged women and leaving our five staff without work. Pr.)
