IGNITION GLOUCESTERSHIRE LIMITED
Draft Report of the Trustees for the period ended 31 December 2024
The trustees are pleased to present their report together with the financial statements of the charity for the period ended 31 December 2024:
In 2024 Ignition Gloucestershire organised a third annual Festival of Wonder, bringing warmth and wonder to the centre of Stroud in the cold winter months. Working alongside the Stroud Centre for Peace & the Arts at St Laurence Church, we explored the theme of Heaven on Earth, offering guests who wished to the opportunity to travel a spiritual pilgrimage through the course of the weekend. We were delighted to welcome over 2500 people of all ages and backgrounds across the 3 days making this a fully inclusive festival which included a highly commended 'relaxed' performance. The provision of as many free shows, performances, workshops, interactive exhibitions, activities and refreshments as possible ensured that those of all economic circumstances could attend with many reporting the lack of financial barrier as one of the best elements of the festival saying they would not have been able to attend without it. The whole weekend would not have been possible with the hard work of over 100 volunteers including the core team and trustees, as well as the support of our funders and incredible international and local artists. We also worked with a number of local schools and youth groups who engaged in creating part of the design for the festival. Perhaps most exciting remains the stories yet to be told as the festival continues to have a deep impact on guests. We have already heard from our festival chaplains and other church leaders that those who engaged at the festival have been seen at Christmas church services as well as others feeling more 'comfortable' coming into a church, and children recalling the excitement of the event. As with all events there is always more to learn and build on and we are already planning another festival for November 2025.
Objects of the charity
(a) to advance the Christian faith in accordance with the Statement of Beliefs in Gloucestershire and in such other parts of the United Kingdom or the world as the directors of the charity (herein called "the trustees") may from time to time think fit and to fulfil such other purposes which are exclusively charitable according to the law of England and Wales and are connected with the charitable work of the charity; (b) to relieve persons who are in conditions of need or hardship or who are aged or sick and to relieve the distress caused thereby in Gloucestershire and in such other parts of the United Kingdom or the world as the trustees may from time to time think fit.

Trustee Responsibilities
Company and charity law applicable to charities in England and Wales requires Trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and the surplus or deficit of the charity for that period.
In preparing those financial statements the Trustees have:
-
selected suitable accounting policies and applied them consistently;
-
made judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent; - stated whether applicable accounting standards have been followed, subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements; and
-
prepared the financial statements on a going concern basis (unless it is inappropriate to presume that the trust will continue in operation).
The Trustees have overall responsibility for ensuring the charity has an appropriate system of controls, financial and otherwise. They are also responsible for keeping accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Companies Act 2006. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence taking reasonable steps for the detection and prevention of fraud and other irregularities.
This report was approved by the trustees on 14 April 2025 and signed on its behalf by:

TO THE TRUSTEES OF IGNITION GLOUCESTERSHIRE LIMITED

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of Ignition Gloucestershire Limited for the year ended 31 December 2024.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity’s trustees of the Company (who are also the directors of the company for the purposes of company law), you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006 (“the 2006 Act”).
Having satisfied myself that the accounts of the Company are not required to be audited for this year under Part 16 of the 2006 Act and are eligible for independent examination, I report in respect of my examination of your charity’s accounts as carried out under section 145 of the Charities Act 2011 (“the 2011 Act”).
Independent examiner’s statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention which give me cause to believe that:
-
accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 386 of the Companies Act 2006, or
-
the accounts do not accord with those records, or
-
the accounts do not comply with the relevant accounting requirements under section 396 of the 2006 Act, other than any requirement that the accounts should give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination, or
-
the accounts have not been prepared in accordance with the methods and principles of the Statement of Recommended Practice for accounting and reporting by charities [applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102)]. I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
