TRUSTEES' REPORT

The trustees submit their report together with the accounts, which have been prepared on the receipts and payments basis, for the year ended 31 March 2025.

The trust was formed on 1 June 2006 and its principal objects are:

To relieve poverty, hardship and distress and advance the education of orphans and young people in the Asian sub continent, Africa and other parts of the world, in particular, but not exclusively by assisting in the establishment and maintenance of orphanages and the provision of financial and material assistance and such other facilities as the trustees in their absolute discretion determine.

The trust was registered as a charity on 6 July 2006 and the charity registration number is 1115148.

RESULTS FOR THE PERIOD

Details of receipts and payments arising during the year ended 31 March 2025 are shown on page 2 of the accounts.

TRUSTEES STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The trustees are required to present accounts for the accounting period, which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the Trust as at the end of the period and of the receipts and payments for that period. In preparing the accounts the trustees are required to apply suitable accounting policies consistently and to make reasonable and prudent judgements and estimates. The accounts have been prepared on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the Trust will continue its activities. The trustees are also responsible for maintaining proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy, the financial position of the Trust at any time. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the Trust and for preventing and detecting fraud and other irregularities.

1 ACCOUNTING POLICIES

Basis of accounting

The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with the applicable accounting standards.

Income

Revenue is accounted for on a receipts and payments basis.

2 THE TRUST

The trust was formed on 1 June 2006 and its principal objects are:

Independent examiner’s report to the trustees of Cherish International Charitable Trust

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of Cherish International Charitable Trust (the Trust) for the year ended 31 March 2025.

Responsibilities and basis of report

As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

Independent examiner’s statement

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

  1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or

  2. the accounts do not accord with those records.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
