The trustees present their report and Jccounts for the year ended 31 December
2023.
The accounts have been prepared In accordance with the accounting policies set
out in note I to the accounts and comply with the Charity's Constitution, the
Charities Act 2011 aThd the Statement of Recommended Practice. "Accounting and
Reporting by Charities., issued in March 2005.
Structurer governance and management
The Charity was established by a constitution adopted on l May 2006 and is a
registered charity V4ith regiskratlon number l L 15081.

Trustees use their own network of contacts to identify suitable canditjates
possessing the ￿e￿ssary knowledge and skiljs to art as trt15tees of the Charity.
Trustee5 are recnjited on the basis tsf their existing relevant knowledge.
Information relating to the Charity's legal status, finances and activities are
provided in advance of appointment. Trustees are expected to idenrify their
training needs aad to take measures to eosure these needs are met.
The Charrf(y's Constltution provides for a mlnimum of three trustees and no
maximum. The Board of Trustees rnay, from time to tiThe, appoint any person as
a member of the 8oard either tts fill a casual vacancy or by way of addition to the
Board. subject to the provisions of the Charity's Constitut%on. Any person so
appointed shall ￿taIn office only until the next Annual General Meeting, but shall
be eligible for re-election. At the Annual General Meeting in every year, each
trustee shall ￿tire, but is eligible for re-elettion.
The Charity's day to day activities a￿ aiJmiTristered by the tNstees, as the
Charity employs no staff. The Board sets the Charily's policy and meets on a
gular basis to review admtnistration. finance, developments planning and other
lated matters.

The Charity's Constitution gives the trustees power lo apply the funds of the
Charity to advan￿ the education of pupils at all Integrated Cornmunity Centres
for Employable Skills IICCFSI in the Ashanti Reglon. Ghana by provlding and
assisting in the provision of facilities for vocational education. The trustees
identify projerts Ihey wish to support, maintain regular contact with the students
and teachers at ICCES centres and a￿ responsible for the consideration and
authorisatlon of grants made by the Charity.
Risk statement
The trustees have assessed the major risks to which the Charity is exposed, and
are satlsfied thal system5 are in place to mitlgate exposure to the majtsr risks.
Objectives and activities
Onechild Ghana's objertive is to advan￿ the education of the pupils at all ICCES
centres in the Ashanti region (TVEf), Ghana by providing and assisting in the
provision of facTlities ￿r vocational educatson.
The trustees confirm that they have ￿ferred to the guidan￿ contained in the
Charity Commlssion's general guidance on publSc benefit when reviewing Onechild
Ghana's aims and objectives and in planning tuture activities.
Onechild Ghana believes that education, training and skills a￿ fundamental in
alleviating poverty in developlng countries and help yout)g adults build a future
for themselves.

Regional Offic• Support
Facilitating the njnning of ICCES centres across the Ashanti ￿gI0￿ by supporting
the administration of the ￿g[Onal office in Kumasi headed by Daniel Amoh.
Centre infrastrutture
Investing in ICCES ￿ntre infrastructure such as student hostels, workshops and
classroorns. Building accommodation blocks rneans that students have a safe
environment to Irve rn and allows centres to spend their school fEes on
educational resources. New classrooms and W0￿shopS glve the students the
educational facilities to learn in.
Centre income oeneration
Onechild Ghana supports projects that help the schoo15 generdte income ftjr
themselves, which helps thern become less reliant on outside donatlOn5. For
exatnple - the charity has prEv¢ously helped installed school famis, established a
rnobile phone repair course and a breadmaking course. Students learn valuable
employable 5ki115 whilst also helping to generate an income for the school.

Achievements and pertorm•n
During the year, Onechild setured £25,997 of incoming resour￿$. Thi5 income
came from several sour￿$ including monthly and one-off donatMJns, Fattbook
fundraiser5 and grdnt making OTganisations
DuTing the year. the Charity made grants to projeLts in accor(lance with its
objects amountin9 to £22.136.
An analysis of the main grants made during the period 15 set out below:
Renovation of dress makin9 workshop- É2,423.50
A grant making organisation donated funds to ￿n0Vate the dress making
workshop at our school in Tetrefv. The ￿n0Vated workshop now provides an
excellent learning environment for students to study In.
Pro¥ision of beds for $tudents- £4,072
A grnnt making organisation donated fvnds to purthase bunk beds for students at
our school in Ejuramen. Students previously had to sleep on flimsy matt￿Se$
on the floor - meaniTrg the pmject has 5ignifi(xntly impmved the accommodatton
facilities for students who need to IrMJge on site at the school.
Student paL*s- £6,627
A grant making organisation donated funds to purchase essential items for
students to use as part of their school day (notepads, stationaryi talculator etc).
Many families were unable to pay for these items, meaning Students lacked the
basic essentials to study.
Toilet Block- £3,773.50
A grnnt making organisatiort donated frjnds to build a brand new toilet block at
our school in Bèworo. The school had dilapidated pit latrines that were not fit for
purpose - and wrf(h stutlent numbers growifigi the need became in¢￿asInglY
urgent. This was the first part payment towards the toilet block.
Provislon of desks for stud•nts - £5.023.50
Onechild Ghana provided funds to purchase desks for students to use across a
mix of centres. Due w the increasing number of students, there was a lack of
desks for students to use. Our donation has addressed this uryent need.

Financial revi¢w
The Statemeni of Finantial Attivits"es sel out in Ihe accounts shows how the
Charity's incotning resources have been expended in the year ended 31
December 2023.
Total Incoming ￿sourceS amounted to £25.997. which cornprises individual
donations anta donations from gtsnt makin9 organisatths.
Resources expended arnounted to £22,136 with £21.920 defrayed in making
grants and £216 as payment to JustGNing. The resulting surplus forthe year was
£3,861. The statement of assets and liabilit￿5 set out in the accounts shows the
financial tK)sition of the Charity at 31 December 2023.
Current assets are represented by cash at bank of £22.404 whith 15 ￿Presented
by the dosing balance on the Chartty's funds.
The Charity rdies very rnuch on the finaTraal supwjrt of its donors - as well as all
of our individual supporters and everyone who has supported our fvndraising
events. We a￿ hugely grdteful to every singk one of our supporter5 and we
would like to express our thanks for their t￿901￿j SUPWt, Commitment and
belief in our vision.
Onechild Ghana is committed to USi￿g its ￿ourCeS in pursutt of rts charitable
objects. It is also committed to maintaining a fevel of ￿erVeS that is prudent to
meet on-going liabilibes, sufficient to ensure that all grdnt commitments can be
met and to protect the long-term hjture of its activities. The trustees consjder
that the doSi￿g unFestrirted funds are adequate for its size of athvitie5 at the
year end.

Plans for th¢ future
In 2024. Onechild Ghana's fundraising strategy will be similar to previtsu5 years
and will focu5 on securing monthly donaiK*ns, developing partner5hlp5 wlth grant
making organisations and completing outstanding proietts.
Statement of trustees. responsibilities
The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trv5tees' rte￿)rt and the accounts
in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards
(United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Prnctice}.
The law applicable to Charit￿s in England and Wales requires the trustees to
prepa￿ accounts for each finanoal year which give a true and fair view of the
state of affairs of the Charity and of the incoming ￿s0￿￿e$ and application of
resources of the Charity for that year.
In preparing these accounts. the trustees are required to..

trust deed. They are also responsibse for safeguarding the assets of the charity
and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detettion of fraud
and other irregularities.
