## **TRUSTEE’S ANNUAL REPORT 2024 / 2025**

This year has been a good year for Stone U3A. Membership has continued to rise with some sixty new members joining during the year, and there have been a number of new activities led by enthusiastic volunteers for the members to participate in, bringing the total to over fifty activities available to retired and people not in full time employment in the Stone area. This is by far the largest charitable organisation in the Stone area providing educational and recreational facilities to members.

We have also organised a programme of talks by speakers on historical, cultural and current matters for members to attend, but are available to members of the general public on the same terms. In addition this year we have arranged courses on digital familiarity and online safety for the benefit of the more elderly members of the community.

We have also supported a number of events organised by other organisations and public bodies, and continue to provide valuable financial support to the managing organisations of local village halls and community facilities.

This year the Trustees have been concerned about rising costs from the various venues we utilise for meetings and activities as we cannot increase membership fees sharply to meet these additional expenses. This in turn means we are depending on drawing down from reserves and plans are in train to ameliorate this situation.

We would like to thank all of the Group Leaders who give up their time every week to organise and resource our many activities. Without them Stone U3A would simply not exist. I would also like to thank both past and present Committee members for their time and support throughout the year.
