We have been funding and rescuing kittens from Spain where often they are are put in carrier bags and thrown in dustbins. Once they are old enough and blood tested to ensure their health, they come to us in the UK to be rehomed. ## **ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE 2024** We remain determined to offer the chance of a new life to all venerable cats for whatever reason they need to be re-homed. We try to never turn away a needy cat and have been really successful in rehoming cats of all ages. We will continue to give our very best for these wonderful animals who very much need our help. ## **PUBLIC BENEFIT** Re-homing of cats either unwanted, feral or strays. All cats are examined by our veterinary surgeon. All cats are neutered, vaccinated and identity chipped before rehoming. Any necessary operations are undertaken by veterinary surgeons. We promote human behaviour towards animals by providing appropriate care, protection, treatment and security for animals in need of care by reason of sickness, poor circumstances or ill usage and to educate the public in matters pertaining to animal welfare and the prevention of cruelty and suffering among animals. ## **FINANCIAL REVIEW** The charity has made a small trading loss of £550, which is mainly due to the increase in wages because of the increased staffing levels need, which was put in place by South Hams District Council. There has also been an increase in workplace pension contributions and sickness payments. The reduced sales in the shops have been affected by the daily bad weather. There has also been a reduction in cat rehoming income due to customers complaining of veterinary fees being too high.
