To address the rlsk of non-compliance th laws and regulations, we o?mmunicated Identlfied laws and regulatlons throughout our team and remalned alert to any Indlcations of non-compliance throughout the audlt. The potentlal effecl of these laws and regulations on the financial statements varies considerably. Firslly, the charitable CA)mpany Is subject to laws and regulatlons that dlrectly affect the financial statements Includlng financlal reporting leglslatlon (Including related charities legislation) and taxatlon legislalion (including payroll taxes) and we assessed the 8Xt8nt of compliance with these laws and regulations as part of our procedurey on the r81ated financlal 8talements items. Secondly, the charitable wmpany Is subject to grants terms and conditions where the consequences of non- compllance could have a material effect on amounts or disclosures in the financial statements, for instance through the temilnatlon of grants. We Identified the following areas as Ihose most likely to have suth an effect: Charfty Commission inspedions and health and safety legislation regulations. Auditing standards limit the requlred audlt procedures to identify non-compllance wlth these laws and regulatlons to enqulry of the Trustees and other management and Inspection of regulatory and legal correspondence, if any. Therefore, if a breach of operational regulations is not disdosed to us or evident from relevant correspondence. an audit will not detect that breach. We Communicated identified fraud risks and non-compllance with laws and regulations wlth those tharged with govemance, throughout the audit team and remalned alert to any indicats'ons throughout the audit. There are inherent limitations In the gudit procedures described above. We are less likely to become aware of instances of nonwcompliance with laws and regulations that are not doseEy related to events and transactions reflected in the financial ststements. Also the risk of not detectlng a material misstatement due to fraud is higher than the risk of not detecting one resultlng from error, as fraud may involve deliberate concealment by. for exampl8. forgery, misrepresentations or through collusion.
