## **THE RICHARD TAYLOR MEMORIAL FUND Registered Charity Number 1114687**

ANNUAL REPORT 2021-2022

The trustees have had regular contact via email and meetings throughout the year.

The Fund has not issued any bursaries this year.

Due to the pandemic there have not been the competitions for the nomination of the Richard Taylor Memorial Fund bursary and there have been no other requests from other sports persons.

This year the Charity has been working in partnership with the Vale of Glamorgan Council to raise funds towards the establishment of a concrete skatepark at the Knap, Barry, as the previous skatepark has now reached the end of its useful life.

Initially we were given a target of £100,000 to raise with the Vale of Glamorgan Council hoping to achieve £150,000 from their budget.

In October 2021, a GoFundMe page was started, which uses PayPal Charity to pay out the donations, and raised £6,798

There were other donations totalling £1,219 A fundraising Race Night brought in £650 plus a fund match made it £1,300 A further fundraiser by BarryRugby Club brought in £500. Gift Aid totalled £972

Grants Waterloo Foundation £15,000 South Wales Police Youth Trust £10,000

Total income for the year was an amazing £35,789 with only £6.59 being spent on a collection box.

We heard from the VOG Council that they had £100,000 allocated for the project and that they had received £200,000 from the Sports Council of Wales.

As a result of the funding provided by Sports Council for Wales, the Richard Taylor Memorial Fund were now only asked to provide £30,000.

The balance brought forward was £5,412.96 and now carrying forward our account balance is £41,195.38

A very productive year.

## **The Richard Taylor Memorial Fund**

I was given the accounts for 2021-22 Richard Taylor Fund and asked to do an independent review of these.

I have checked the bank account statements, these show income from Go Fund Me as follows:

- 30 November 2021 of £5942.52

- 23 December 2021 of £207.40

- 1 February 2022 of £467.03

- 2 March 2022 of £941.17

- 2 April 2022 of £207.64

These totalled £7765.76, the same amount shown on the Go Fund Me site. No discrepancy found.

Cash donations of £1050 fully disclosed. As were the Hurts so Good -Graffitti Workshops payment of £166.24 and Amazon Smile payment of £7.00.

The fundraising events at the Barry Rugby Club of £500 and Sully Bowls Club of £1300 were declared and accounted for.

The grants from Waterloo Foundation of £15000 and South Wales Police Youth Trust of £25000 fully declared and accounted for.

After a thorough review I found the accounts to be in good order with no discrepancies.
