|Policy on social investment<br>including program related<br>investment||The business is in profit, other than from<br>bread which comes under the category<br>“Free Bread” for which our charity provides<br>social investment grants to various local<br>recipients (Including schools and hospitals).<br>We are pleased to report that the social<br>impact, which can be measured in many<br>ways, not only provides positive health care<br>(there continue to be no deaths from<br>starvation despite poor harvests) but also<br>through education and improvement of<br>utilities - water and electricity for example -<br>ensures increasing independence and<br>empowerment.<br>We continue to provide an emergency<br>contingency fund which has proved helpful<br>in times of personal and group need.<br>Friends of the Ifakara Bakery Project<br>provide support, advice and additional<br>fundraising activities from time to time.|

|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to<br>the circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider<br>benefits to society as a<br>whole.|Para 1.20|**Supplies of free bread**<br>We funded 76,136 loaves of bread during<br>2020 and over 80% of these reached<br>children below the age of 7 at<br>Kindergartens and Nursery schools.<br>It is a lifeline for many and has helped<br>continue to maintain improved school<br>attendance despite the impact of Covid.<br>We also provided free bread for hospital<br>wards for malnourished children, neonates<br>and TB patients and at the Nazereti leprosy<br>centre.<br>**Education**<br>The good pass rate for assessments and<br>qualifications at all relevant levels has been<br>maintained due to tuition from the study<br>centre.<br>**Innovative activities**<br>We have further developed the beekeeping<br>project which continues to provide an<br>income stream for those participants and|





also has many health giving benefits. We have found it beneficial to receive advice from a UK charity, Bees Abroad with particular interests in this area. **Emergency/Pastoral Care** 2020 again saw some individuals needing personal support, often caused by poorer health. The Trustees agreed with all such support provided.
