ANNUAL REPORT OF TRUSTEES 2024
WORLD SPEEDWAY RIDERS ASSOCIATION Charity number 1114501
The trustees hereby submit the accounts for 2024 as part of their annual
report.
We believe this was a successful year, in that we were able to make grants of
£7500 in support of both young riders and the Benefit fund. There were
successful events, such as the Celebration of Speedway, the Spring Lunch and
the Gala Dinner, the latter attracting a record attendance of recent years.
There was a modest deficit, but this was not unexpected as we made the
decision to hold members, fees unchanged despite increases in postage and
printing costs. We maintain cash reserves equivalent to a minimum of six
months expenditure.
Membership numbers were steady, which we view as successful owing to the
advancing age of members and the decline in popularity of the sport.
The same events are planned for 2025.
We continue to rotate exhibits in the museum, in order to maintain interest for
visitors.
We are truly grateful to both the trustees and the volunteers without whom
we would not be able to run this association.
