During lockdown, we had discussed and were able or arrange in February an auction of memorabilia, the first time we had done this. It was a successful venture, raising some £22000, by itself almost as great as our usual annual income. This will enable us to put our finances onto a stable footing and will also allow us to increase the assistance we give to disabled riders and to bring the history of the sport to the attention of the public through improvements to the museum. We increased our, our monetary gifts to disabled members and we see that aspect being much needed in 2023.. Expenses were kept under control and relate mainly to printing and postage of the quarterly magazine, the website, museum maintenance and rent. We ended the year with a bank balance of £52,000 which we regard as more than sufficient to see us through a 12 month period even if income were to be dramatically reduced.
