Patterdale School Support Group Trustees Report September 2025
- Chairs Report:
I was first elected as Chair of the support group back in September 2019, which now seems like a lifetime ago. Now that I am stepping down from the role, I just wanted to say that it has been a real honour and privilege to fundraise with you all over the last six plus years. In that time the group has helped raise over £100,000 for this amazing school of ours – an achievement that we should all be very proud of. I won’t single anybody out for special mention, but we all know that there are a few key people that keep the wheels rolling on this wagon – they know who they are and I thank them all. Huge thanks also to all of those who have helped the group by volunteering, or making sandwiches, or buying raffle tickets, by joining the 200 Club, or simply by donating to the group. We are so lucky to have such a fantastic community around us, and to have this great school with its hard-working dedicated team. I leave you with a message to all parents - many hands make light work, if everybody does a little then a lot gets done.
Wishing the PSSG great success in the future,
Steve Sykes, Chair 2019-2025
’ - Treasurer s Report:
2024-25 End-of-Year report:
2024-25 was our most successful fundraising year to date, with the £34k raised being largely down to some very generous donations and a lot of great work from parents and volunteers. Huge thanks to:
-
those lovely folk that donated towards our [alas unsuccessful] paver project who did not want refunds;
-
everybody who donated towards our [successful] IT Fundraiser;
-
Tom Iredale and his marathon fundraising;
-
the residents of Hartsop for their invaluable car park donations;
-
the Lloyds/Beaumonts for letting us take donations at their Watermillock lay-bys;
-
the Ullswater Country Fair for letting us sell refreshments;
-
Nicola Merrett for running the Beat the Bounds event – a huge undertaking!;
-
all of our 200 club members;
-
everybody else who has done anything to raise money for us or help us in any way;
-
and last but definitely not least, Chris Hodgson and his family for letting us cater for the Mountain Relay.
