**Objects:** (1) TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF SCHOOL PUPILS AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC IN EAST AFRICA BY THE PROVISION OF LIBRARY FACILITIES AND RESOURCES;(2) TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF LOCAL COMMUNITIES IN EAST AFRICA BY TRAINING AND EQUIPPING THEM TO CREATE LEARNING RESOURCES;(3) TO EXTEND THE CAPACITY AND SKILLS OF POORLY RESOURCED COMMUNITIES IN EAST AFRICA BY DELIVERING PROFESSIONAL TRAINING THAT WILL HELP EXPAND THEIR OPPORTUNITIES IN THE WIDER GLOBAL SOCIETY

**Activities:** We fit out and support community libraries in rural Kenya in consultation with local people, providing books, newspapers, IT, book development programmes and training in order to improve literacy and availability of information. We also give secondary school bursaries to able, needy students from the immediate locality, in return for a few hours work in the libraries, each week.
