Betel Church Trustees Report for 2024
Aims, Objectives and Activities
In line with our governing documents registered with the Charity Commission, Anchor Point Church aims to meet the following objectives and purposes:
Advancement of Christian Faith: preaching and proclamation of the Gospel and teaching of Christian doctrine and principles. Printing and distributing of the Bible and other Christian literature, also utilising video, audio, electronic or other media where available. Pastoral care of Christian people. The relief of persons who are in conditions of need, hardship, or distress, aged or sick.
We endeavour to meet these objectives as a local community church based in Aston, Birmingham and New Basford, Nottingham, which is open to all who wish to attend, by providing access to Christian worship services on a regular weekly basis where Christian teaching and pastoral care is offered. We offer additional services for children, families and youth through the church, including access to child and toddler groups, supporting parents, offering free meals, and through outreach to the local community, particularly those affected by addiction or substance misuse. We also host regular conferences to benefit local churches, groups and businesses. In March 2025 we hosted a free community banquet for those in the local area, during which we hosted a meal and entertainment for around 300 people from the nearby communities, and were able to hand our food parcels and baby items to those in need.
As a result of these activities we have welcomed a number of new visitors and families into our church congregation, and are confident that APC offers a welcome, beneficial environment that is fully in line with our principles and objectives as stated above. We have also established and extended numerous relationships with other local churches and ministries in our area, working together in various projects to promote unity in our communities, and working for the benefit of all people in our local area.
