The year 2022 marked the second year since the onset of the COVID pandemic. With the relaxation of social distancing measures, our church experienced a gradual increase in both indoor and outdoor social activities.
In the summer of 2022, we held our first youth camp in Tonna, Neath. Over 20 youths participated in this three-day, two-night event, which featured a mix of worship, sharing sessions, and games. These activities ignited a deeper love for Jesus among the attendees. The obstacle race challenged our youth, testing their perseverance to the limit. Their efforts were rewarded with delicious Chinese food prepared by camp leaders and church members. Several youths professed their faith in Jesus during the camp. We shared the impact of the youth camp on the following Sunday, giving glory to our Lord Jesus Christ.
Our Chinese Class also held its year-end ceremony in the summer, where we expressed our gratitude to the volunteers and presented gifts to students and teachers.
In August 2022, we had our annual summer church family picnic at a park in Sketty. Attendees ranged from age 3 to 80, and the event was filled with joy and laughter. We sang praise and worship songs and played games with both children and adults.
In December 2022, we organized various outreach activities, including visitations to church members and friends to invite them to our Christmas service. Our Sunday school children presented Christmas carols at a local
Chinese old folks' home, bringing smiles and joy to the residents. We also engaged them with simple games and a Christmas quiz.
We began our Chinese New Year decorations in January 2023 and held a special Chinese New Year Sunday service. Throughout January, various cell groups celebrated in small gatherings.
During Easter, we focused on daily devotionals to remind us of Jesus' sacrificial and redemptive love. The message of the risen Lord Jesus Christ was shared during our Easter Sunday service.
In April 2023, we had another church outing at Cwmdonkin Park. Blessed with good weather, the day was full of laughter and fun. We invited friends and their children, seizing the opportunity to share the gospel with them.
In May and June 2023, we celebrated Mother's and Father's Day, reflecting on biblical teachings about being God-fearing parents. Our youth publicly thanked their parents for their love and guidance.
Our youth attended the PHAT Camp, a national Christian camp organized by the Chinese Overseas Christian Mission (COCM), in August 2023. Their faith was strengthened, and they shared their testimonies at a church service afterward, giving glory to God for His work in their lives.
Later in August 2023, we went strawberry picking in Scurlage. Blessed with good weather, it was a wonderful time for connecting elders and young families in the church.
We give thanks and glory to God for His provision, protection, and guidance throughout 2022 and 2023. We witnessed the growth of our church not just in numbers, but also in the increased involvement of brothers and sisters in prayer meetings, Bible studies, and various roles of service.
