In October, we celebrated our 4th year anniversary of moving into Capel Gomer. It was a time of thanksgiving and we praised and thanked God for his plan and provision. We also organised colouring competition for our Sunday school children which formed part of the anniversary celebration.
We had visitations to invite families and friends before Christmas to join our yearly Christmas Evangelical Service. Our Sunday school performed a nativity sketch, and we had a wonderful time of worship. The Christmas message was well received, and we had a nice meal with friends and families on Christmas day. Following the morning Christmas service, it was our Sunday school Christmas party in the afternoon, joined by new friends and families.
In January 2020, it was Chinese New Year celebration. Children and adults were having great fun of making dumplings, wearing traditional Chinese Dresses, and doing Chinese calligraphy and making lanterns.
We celebrated brothers’ and sisters’ birthdays each month until the pandemic in UK started in March 2020.
In March 2020, it was the national UK lockdown. We gave thanks to God as we swiftly converted our Sunday worship to online platform just before the national lockdown, and all the ministries were able to continue via the Zoom platform since.
It was a challenging time for the church in year 2020. We give thanks to God for His protection and by strengthening the faith of the congregation throughout the pandemic. Families were more united in the pandemic and the congregation continue to expand. Our online Sunday service and online Sunday school classes were joined by attendees from other cities in UK and from Hong Kong and Malaysia. All glory belongs to our Lord Jesus Christ.
