Our isolated beneficiaries, especially those greatly impacted by the pandemic experienced two trips to the seaside. The report will inform on the work we have committed to this year and as such, I would like to thank our staff, volunteers, partners and funders for their continued support.

## HADEA: Objectives
- To relieve poverty, sickness and distress amongst people from the Horn of Africa who are suffering from physical and mental disabilities, by any means charitable under the law of England and wales, including but not limited to, advancing their education, preserving protecting and restoring their health, providing guidance, advice, advocacy and access to skills training and supporting them in identifying and accessing employment opportunities.
- The relief in need of children and young people from the Horn of Africa particularly but not exclusively those that are disabled, have learning difficulties or other special needs and are resident in Ealing through the provision of support services, advice, dissemination of information, sports, educational support social and cultural activities.
- The promotion of health, and ill health prevention amongst the Horn of Africa community resident in Ealing borough particularly but not exclusively through community activities, dissemination of information and community involvement.

## PROJECT ACTIVITIES
## 1. **Covid-19 Intervention**
## (a) Supported by: Ealing Council/Public Health
HADEA worked closely with the charity EACH as part of a consortium. to support marginalised communities deal with Covid-19;
- 200 plus beneficiaries engaged with
- 45 individuals supported to complete their vaccination
- 200 plus beneficiaries supported to deal with mis-information related to Covid-19
## (b) Unfunded Covid-19 : Mental Health
We had identified an issue with those in the community that have mental health afflictions and were not either fully vaccinated or failed to grasp the enormity of the pandemic and its effect on self and the community. We worked with 7 such individuals constantly - supporting them
- to access the appropriate services i.e. mental health services become fully vaccinated
- constantly be aware of covid-19 safety measures and how best they could protect themselves and other from contracting and spreading the virus

## **3. Information, Advice and Guidance**
HADEA's information, advice and guidance work on welfare rights, housing, debt and immigration work is accredited through the Advice, Quality Standard (AQS).
Trust for London has been our main funder and we have been again successful to receive funding from TFL (2021-2023).
- Supporting users maximise their welfare entitlements with an additional focus on disability related benefits.
- Advocacy work to uphold their rights especially in relation to issues such as miss-selling of consumer products, alleged benefit overpayments, etc.
- Supported users access accommodation and avoid homelessness

**Our situation remains the same in terms of who and how we have been able to engage with others in supporting our most vulnerable clients cope with the pandemic. We have been working closely with EACH as part of their Covid-10 consortium. Our connectin communities project partners include GOSAD, United Anglo Caribbean Society and ESWCA**

Additional external training is also provided io all newly appointed trustees when new opportunities become
available.Thi5 is mainly designed to ensure that trustees follow the rules in the charitys governing document and
to support them to fijlfil Iheir role5 and responsibilities effectively.
All decisions relating to the governance and management of the chairy are taken and approved by the trustees
collertively.

organi5ations and charitable companies, but this does not have an impact on the operational policies adopted by
the charity.
