and financial stateinents for tlie chui"ch.
LEGAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION
The cliui'ch is a cliaritable cojnpany limited by guarantee. It is governed by a Meinoi"aiidum and
Aiticles of Association. Tlie company has four directors who meet regularly to I"eview the finances and
adininisti'atioii of tlie cliLlI"ch.
The Senior Pastor and his wife, who are also Directors, al-e employed 011 a full time basis and I'un the
chLlI"cli on a day-to-day basis.

Worship and Ei vents
Oui" regular weekly Fi"iday and Sunday wot'ship services ai"e open to the general public. At tliese
meetings we seek to help people in their spiritual journey thi.ough the teaching of scriptures accoi-daiice
with our vision to build, establish people on the Woi"d of God by the powei" of tlie Holy Spii'it, so they
can I"eacli theii" full potential in life. Alongside other major subjects in sci"ipture, oui" teachings genei.al ly
cover thi'ee main ai.eas which are Faith, Family and Creativity.
We contiiiue to see many people, young and old, growing in their relationsliip with God with the result
that Ihey al'e becoming more confident to live a more pui'poseful and meaii ingfLJI life.
We organise special events including our annual convention which attracts huiidreds of people from
across vai.ious cultul'es and age groups. We also host Christmas carols, Good Friday and Easter
celebrations sei:vices which ai"e promoted within tlie community aiid continue to be a maiii attractioii
for people iii oui. coinmunity. We also hold a New Yeai"s's Eve service to usher in the new yeai" with
prayers aiid messages that give guidance, dii"ection and focus foi" the yeai" aliead. All these events
featui"e Inusic by our choir, as well as guest speakei's, siiigei's and musiciaiis. Children and young
people featui'e prominently in all majoi. chui.ch events where they Iiave the opportunily to sliowcase
theii. ci'eativity in miisic, daiice, multimedia and othei. ai.eas which go a long way in building theii"
confidence aiid enhancing their overal I development and well-being.
Youth and Children's Work
At Living Word, we are COlT]mitted to the family. Our weekly youth meetings foi. ages 13-18 continue
to pi"ovide a place aiid foi.um to build young people to become strong and stable individuals, give
guidance in their education and vocation and also support them emotionally helping them to become
fulfilled adults who have a gi-eat relationship with God.
We encourage our youiig people to go to University, take LIP appi"enticeships aiid to generally make Ihe
best of tlieir lives and to be.good citizens of Olir country. The youth teachei's provide guidajice and
teachings aiined at eiisui.ing that they become adults who will Iiial<e meaningful contributions to theii"
family and the society. We continue to see many of the young people using tlicir ci"eativity within the
church and in tlie coininiinity iti ai.eas such as music, multi- media, hospitality, Sunday school and
many mol-e. The youth also eiigage in fun activities which enliance teain bonding aiid builds tliem LIP
socially.

We Iiold an annual Youth weelcend when the youiig people talce over the running of both our Friday
and Sunday services. Tliis gives the youth an opportunity to showcase their various talents in music,
singiiig, poeti"y, Inedia, pliotography, techiiical, includiiig pi'eacliing and teaching where tliey excel
tremendously. The Youth Mieekend always generate a hLige excitement and buzz among tlie young
people, and the entire chui"ch. We continue to see our young people sti'etching themselves beyond tlieir
coinfoi't zoiie. All these activities al'e opeii to all yOLing people in the community
Oui" Sunday School (genei"ally I"efei'i'ed to as Childi"en's Chui'ch) is a fun and enjoyable place foi.
children aged 3-13 yeai-s. We pi"ovtde a stable, safe and fun environment foi" childi.en to learn and gl.ow
in tlieir Clit'istiaii faith and prepare the older ones foi" teenage life. We have a team of dedicated
teacliei"s and volunteers who woi"k tirelessly to make the children feel welcoine and have a gi'eat liine
evei"y Sunday. We oi'ganise special activities which the childi.en always look foi'ward to i.e. CliildL"en's
Sunday, Childi"en's Graduation Ceremoiiy, Hallelujah Night, Children's Fun Day and much mol'e.
We hold oui" Suiiday School in the Chalfont St Giles Youth Centre, a large facility which pi"ovides
adequate space for teacliing and learning, and a good play and activity area foi" the children. We are
grateful foi" tlie tireless dedicatioii of our Sunday School teachers and volunteers who continue to do a
great job of helping to niiitui-e tlie children in the Word of God and helping to shape them into good,
i°esponsible and christ-ceiiti.ed cliildren in a loving <1nd cariiig envii"oninent.
Counselling and Pastoral Care
We PL"ovide spii"itual and einotioiial suppoit foi. both oui" membei"s and the genei.al public. We cai.ry out
mai"riage counselling, help resolve family disputes, siipport individuals emotionally aiid siipport people
IhL'ough bei"eavement and othei. personal and family mattei"s.
We also conduct weddings, baby dedications, house blessings and our dooi's are open to the public foi.
suppoit and pastOL'al cai"e. People at'e able to contact us via our chui-ch website, social media, telephone
oi. simply tlii"OLigh the doors.
Relation with local churches and ministers
We continue to forge strong I'elationships with local churches and ministers, as well as Iniiiistries
outside our community. We collaboi'ate with other churches whose ministers meet with our pastoi" to
shai"e ideas and generally support and encourage each other. In both our Chalfont St Giles and
Farjiham Common locations, we join the churches in organising programmes in the community
including the Good Fi'iday lnai.ch in Fai"nhain Cominon, and sei.vice 011 the gi.een in Chalfont St Giles.
The church is pai"t of the Slough Ministers, Netwoi'lc and oui" pastor attends the local clei.gy group in
Chalfont St Petei"s. The chLlI"ch is a Inember of Evangelical Alliance. We also enjoy good WOL'king
I'elationship with the Slough Baptist Cliui'ch as well as Cippejiham Baptist Church who have been very
gracious to allow us to Lise their baptismal pools to carly out our water baptism seiwices.

Foodbank: Tlie church is also actively iiivolved in the Opei"ation Clii'istmas Child organised by
Sainai"itan's Pul'se. Our members donate Christmas shoe boxes and the church supports their woi'k
fiiiancially. We also collaboi'ate witli and suppoit the Pi-isoii Fellowship.
Support to individuals and families
The trustees provide financial suppoi't and relief to individuals aiid families pai"ticularly those with
young childi'en going tlit'ough a difficult tiine. We give out Chi"istmas food baskets to tlie eldei.ly and
fainilies that al'e in need over the Chi'istlT]as period. The chui.ch also runs a monthly stall called
Blessing Connection, whei'e noii-pei"ishable items ai"e made available to botli chui.ch members and the
general pubIic, fl'ee of cliai'ge.
