Our Purpose / Objects as stated in our governance documents are The provision and maintenance of a village hall for the use of the inhabitants of the Village of Dickens Heath in the Blythe warden the Metropolitan Borough of Solihull without distinction of political, religious other opinion, including use of:- (a) meetings, lectures and
- (b) other forms of recreation and leisure with the object of
Improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants.
Positive outcomes from last year:
- The leak and mould issues were finally resolved with the help of new
DHVC managers.

BT broadband installed and is now fully functioning.

New Directors working well together.

We now have written and up to date VH policies on our website.

After a number of hiccups, the VH Website is live.

New SMBC Councillor Keith Green.

Started to explore working together with Parish Council.

Fulfilling DHVH duty as an employer by carrying out staff appraisal.

2Clean Plus cleaning contract has been terminated. We’re in negotiations
With Glosclean Cleaning Services to carryout the cleaning in VH
Areas for Improvement:

Village Hall soundproofing issues.

Neighbours complaints about noise led to Dickens Heath residents’

online bullying. A review of our working practices, especially, bookings
and use of Terms & Conditions of Hire document.

Communications; residents, regular hirers, weekend hirers & contractors.

Managing our finances; setting an annual budget & monitoring effectively
to provide value for public funds. Need a finance policy.

Increase the use of the Village Hall by making it a safe, clean and an attractive place for activities.

Reviewing all contracts to ensure value for money.

Develop a longer term repair & maintenance plan for the Hall.
