## **Trustees Report 2022/23**

Kentish Town Church of England Primary School is an outstanding one form entry primary and nursery school. Our school is highly inclusive, having Additionally Resourced Provision for the inclusion of 6 children with physical disabilities and 15 children with autism. In July 2024, OFSTED described our provision for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities as “exceptional”. We also hold the National Autistic Society Specialist Provision Award at Advanced Level. We run the Camden Learning SEND Hub, collaborating with schools across the authority to ensure that Camden children, with additional needs, receive the best possible support in their schools.

We are proud to hold the Gold UNICEF Rights Respecting School Award, placing our children’s views at the centre of what we do. We passionately believe that by living in London, our children should take full advantage of everything it can offer them: opportunities in sport, art and music, as well as academic excellence.

## **The Friends of Kentish Town School**

The Friends of Kentish Town School is a very active parent-teacher association. Our aim is to make the school a better place for our children to learn, and to help nurture and strengthen a sense of community. We bring together staff, parents, carers, and friends to help raise money to support children’s education and wider experiences at school.

## **Charitable Objectives**

- To advance the education of pupils in Kentish Town Church of England School. In particular by developing extended and effective relationships between staff, parents, carers and others associated with the school by engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of pupils.

- To raise funds in support of Kentish Town Church of England School, through various activities involving parents, carers and pupil participation.

We have a small committee of parents/carers including a Chair, Secretary and Treasurer but also tap into a host of regular volunteers who help organise and run our fundraising events programme. This offers parents and caregivers an opportunity to make new friends, get to know the school environment and, of course, make a difference to the school for the children, and the generations after them. Events that we hold include an annual Bounceathon, a Disco, Christmas and Summer Fairs, a Grown-Ups’ quiz, an auction, Christmas Tree sale, sponsored walks and more.

## **Financial Review**

In 2022/23 the Friends of Kentish Town Church of England Primary School maintained a strong financial position. Total income, including fundraising and donations, allowed us to continue supporting a range of enrichment activities for all children at Kentish Town Church of England Primary School. All funds were used in alignment with our charitable aims to improve the educational experiences of our students.

Over the year 2022/2023 the Friends of Kentish Town School raised £11,525.81 with an additional income of £24,518.40 in donations. This year money has been raised through the Christmas and Summer fairs, the disco, the quiz and a sponsored walk. These events have also helped to encourage and nurture a sense of school community, one of the aims of the charity. During the year the Friends of Kentish Town School have been able to support with funding for: class trips to the pantomime, contributions to the Year 6 residential trip, the year 5 trip to Paris and the school trip to Broadstairs, specialist new classroom equipment, and a specialist library subscription. These contributions to funding have all made a significant difference to the quality of the children’s education and experience at school. Total expenditure in 2022/2023 was £32,338.45.

## **Plans for the Future**

We hope to continue supporting the school to make Kentish Town CofE Primary School a better place for our children to learn, and to help nurture and strengthen a sense of community. We will continue to arrange events and fundraising activities that bring together staff, parents, carers, and friends to help raise money to enhance the children’s education and experience.

## **Statement of Trustee Responsibilities**

The Trustees are responsible for ensuring that the charity operates in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, safeguarding the charity’s assets, and ensuring that funds are used exclusively for the purpose of furthering the charity’s objectives.

Hi Chris,
I've finally managed to have a look at these
again.
I realised the amount held on parentpay was
wrong and so have corrected that. I'm
attaching the accounts with this corrected
and I believe it should all tally up now.
I found a missing receipt for 15.99 for
Penny's xmas grotto expenses which means
all receipts are there for that payment.
Sheila Clarke has been underpaid by £1 for
the licences and I think we just have to
accept that.
The other two missing receipts for stationary
items from morgans have not been found and
I think we'll have to submit the accounts with
them missing.
Are you happy for me to submit the accounts
now? If any further questions just let me

Apologies Emily,
I wasn't aware that I needed to come back on
this and am now being chased by Michael on
them.
Given the explanations below, I think they are
more than satisfactory and we can submit.
Apologies for not coming back to you
Kind regards
Chris Gardener
