I report on the accounts of the Mawdesley Equine and People Trust for the year ended 31 March
2023. which are set out on page 3.

that an audit is not required for this year under section 144, of the Charitie$ Act 2011, Ithe

Basis of Indepondent examinees report
My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Dirextions gwen by the Charity
Commissioners. An examination Includes a review of the accounting records kept by the Charity
and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. 11 also includes wnsideralion of
any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees
conceming any such matter5. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that
would be required in an audit and consequently, no opinion is given as lo whether the accounts
present a true and fairf viw4 and the report is limited lo those matters sel out in the statement
below.

Mawdesley Equine & People Trust Icharity no 11137261 in its rrfteenlh year of operation sI￿e il
was fomed as an amalgamation of the functions of Backhouse Horse Welfare, Assessment &
Therapy Centre and Backhouse Therapeutic Equestrian Centre, ha5 continued to carry on ils
activities al Backhouse Stables in Mawdesw, now fomalty described as Jigsaw Stables.
The charity has continued to promcle on4Joing welfare & Ilaining lo the equines in its care, whilst
maintaining ils role of providing advice and advancing the education of the public * large in
matters relating to the care and welfare of equines.
Jigsaw continued to prov*le activities on site that would promote ￿1th and wdl-being for the
public, in accord￿ wlh the stated Charitable 0￿ects.
Grant funding from the Lancashire Environment Fund was obtained for improving access fc* all lo
the site facilities and this w(Yk was Lqrgely completed within this year.
The charity ￿ntInued hosting c¢casional equine assist￿ learning ses$ion$ for a special sch¢x)I
from chc￿ey.
