**Report from Mr Geoff Newman (Chairman) at club’s AGM Summary of the main on 06[th] June 2022 achievements of the charity during the year**[[th]]

Chairman’s Report AGM 06[[th]] June 2022

As the season draws to a close it’s a good to time to reflect on what we all have achieved together as a club. We have all collectively

provided nearly 300 young footballers and their families a safe, collaborative and unique environment for them to enjoy. Through some pretty turbulent times from the pandemic to the latest situation with the Ukraine conflict the club has displayed a community spirit we can all be very proud of.

I would like to thank the team of trustees, coaches, managers and age group helpers for their support over the last year.

In particular I’d like to thank Dave Spiller. Dave has been with the club for over 15 years in one capacity or another. Most recently

Dave has acted as the Club Sectary. Unfortunately, Dave is stepping down and we need to find another CS for the club to operate within the governance requirements of being a charity. Recruitment drive is underway, please shout if you are able to support.

Operationally we / I did not achieve all of what we set out to, but in hindside we achieved what mattered the most, we have a vibrant, happy and respected grass roots football club.

Financially we are in a good position.

We need to get out arms round the tournament and make a success of this for 2022. It’s going to be a demanding 3 weeks and we must

have support from the wider group to make it a success.

A summary pic that explains our achievements for the club as reflected from few pics taken from clubhouse -

**Mayford Athletic Football Club**

**Report from Mr. Dave Spiller (Club Secretary) at club’s AGM on 06[th] June 2022**

For Surrey FA, we have 22 teams registered this last season (2021-22)

(2 teams folded after only a few weeks into the season due to numbers).

We also have glowing Feedback from Surrey FA to the Club when they carried out a Safeguarding visit earlier this year. This is testament to how well the club is run and the hard work by all the Coaches and Volunteers.

(remember to include the page numbers of additional sheets)

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended **31 / 05 / 2021** .

## **Responsibilities and basis of report**

As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

## **Independent examiner's statement**

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

- the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or

- the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or

- the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
