The Trustees present their annual report together with the financial statement5 of Lara Atkin Charitable
Foundation {the charity} for the year ended 5 April 2024. The Trustees confirm that Ihe annual report and
financial slalemenls of the charity comply with the ctjrrent statutory requirements, the reqLtirements of the
charity's governing document and the provisions of the Statement of Recommended Practice ISORP),
applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with Financial Reporting Standard applicable in
the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS1021 leffeclive l January 20191-
Objectives and activities
Policies and objectives
The principal object of the charity is to provide the relief of povety, distress and sickness. the advancement of
education and the protection of health.
b. Strategies for achieving objectives
In compliance with the duly set out in section 4 of Ihe Charilies Act 2006 and in shaping our objectives for the
year and planning Our aclivilies. the Injslees have considered the Charity Commission's guidance on public
benefit. In deciding which institutions lo provide grants to. the trustees give careful consideration to charities that
share the chariws obiectives.
c. Main activities undertaken to fvrther the charity's purposes for the public benefit
In setting objectives and planning for activities. the Trustees have given due consideration to general guidance
published by the Charity Commission relating lo public benefil. including the guidance 'Public benefit". running a
charity IP821'.
Achievements and perfomiance
a. Main achievements of the ¢haTity
l)uring the year, charitable donations received amounted lo £84:581 12022.. £37,399). These reSoUr￿S were
used lo fund grants.
Financial review
a. Going concern
After making appropriate enquiries, the Tnjstees have a reasonable expectation thal the charity has adequate
resources to continue in operational existence lor the foreseeable future. For this reason, they continue to adopt
the going concern basis in preparing the financial slalemenls. Further details regarding the adoption of the
going concem basis can be found in the accounting policies.
b. Reserves poli¢y
The trustees wish to safeguard the charivs ability lo support the beneficiaries in the future and aim to achieve
this by judicious management of ils resources.
c. Principal risks and uncertainties
The Board of Trustees is responsible for the managemenl of risks faced by the charity. All major risks to which
the charity is exposed have been identified, assessed and aclion laken where appropriate.
Structure, governance and management
a. Constitution
The charity was established by a Declaration of Trust dated 30 De￿rnber 2005 as Lara Atkin Charitable
Foundation and is registered with the Charity Commission under the registration number 1113059.

b. Methods of appointment or election of Trustees
The management of the charity is Ihe responsibilty of the Trustees who are elected and co-opted under the
terms of the Trust deed.
Organisational structure and decision-making policies
The charity is administered by the Board of Trustees which is its goveming body. There are no paid employees
and the trustees meet at least twice a year to discuss and implement policy.
Plans for future periods
The Lara Atkin Charitable Foundation plans to continue to operate into the forseeable future with the continued
objective of providing grants lo institutions workirhg towards the ￿lief of poverty.. distress and sickness.
Statement of Trustees. responsibilities
The Trustees are responsible for preparing the Tnjstees. Report and the financial statements in accordance
with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted
Accounting Practice).
The law applicable to charities in England & Wales requires the Trustees to prepare financial statements for
each financial year which give a Inje and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of its incoming
resoufces and application of resources. including its Income and expenditure. for Ihat period. In preparing these
financial statements, the Trustees are ￿qUired lo..
select suitable accounting policies and then apply Ihem consistently,.
observe the methods and principles of the Charities SORP IFRS 1021,.
make judgments and accounting estimates that are reasonable and prudent",
state whelher applicable UK Accounting Standards IFRS 1021 have been followed. subject to any
material departures disclosed and explained in the Iinanaal statements.,
prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the
charity will continue business.
The Trustees are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that are sufficient to show and explain
the charity's transactions and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity
and enable them to ensure Ihat Ihe financial stalemenls comply with the Charities Act 2011, the Charity
(Accounts and Reports} Regulations 2008 and the provisions of the Trust deed. They are also responsible for
safeguarding the asse15 of the charity and hence for taking feasonable steps for the prevention and deteclion of
fraud and other irregularities.

I report to the charity Trustees on my examination of the accounts of the charity for the year ended 5 April 2024.
Responsibilities and Basis of Report
As the Trustees of the charity you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance wth the
requirements of the Charities Act 2011 {'the 2011 Act'i.
I report in respect of my examination of the chariws accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and
in carrying out my examination I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under
section 14515llb} of the 2011 Act.

YoLJr attention is drawn to the fact thal the charity has prepared the accounts in accordance with Accounting and
Reporting by Charities.. Statemenl of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in

the Generally Accepted Accounting Practice effective for reporting periods beginning on or after 1 January

General information
The Lara Atkin Charitable Foundation is a charity ￿gIStered in England & Wales. Its registered office
address is 16 Rosemont Road, London, NW3 6NE.
Accounting policies
2.1 Basis of preparation of financial statements
The finanual slalements have been prepared in accordance with the Charities SORP (FRS 1021
Attounling and Reporting by Charities." Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities
preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK
and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 (effective 1 January 2019). the Financial Reporting Standard
applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) and the Charities Act 2011.
The financial statements have been prepared to give a 'true and fair, view and have departed from
the Charitie5 (Accounts and Reports) Regulalions 2008 only to the extent required to provide a 'true
and fairf view. This departure has involved following the Charities SORP (FRS 1021 published in
October 2019 rather Ihan the Accounting and Reporting by Ch2rilies.' Statement of Recommended
Practice effective from 1 April 2005 which has since been withdrawn.
The Lara Alkin Charitable Foundation meels the definition of a public benefit entity under FRS 102.
Assets and liabilities are initially recognised at historical cost or transaction value unless otherwise
slated in the relevant accounting policy.
The charity's functional and presentational currency GBP.
2.2 Going concern
The trustees have reviewed the circumstances of the charity. and consider that adequate resources
continue lo be available to fund the activities of Ihe charity for the foreseeable future. The truslees
consider that there are no matenal uncertainties about the charivs ability lo continue as a going
concern.
2.3 Income
All income is recognised once Ihe charity has entitlement to the income, it is probable that the
income will be re￿IVed and the amount of income receivable can be measured reliably.
Iricome lax recoverable in relation to donations received under Gift Aid or deeds of covenant is
recognised at Ihe tiTrTre of the donation.
2.4 Expenditure
Expendilure is recognised once there is a legal or constructive obligation to transfer economic
benefit to a third party. it is probable that a transfer of economic benefits will be required in
settlement and the amount of the obligation can be measured reliably.
Expenditure on charrtable activities is incurred on directly undertaking the activities which further the
charity's objectives. as well as any associated s￿PpOrt costs.

2.4 Expenditure (continued)
Grants payable are charged in the year when the offer is made except in those cases where the
offef is condilional. such grants being recognised as expenditure when the conditions attaching are
fulfilled. Grants offered subjecl to coridilions which have not been mel at the year end are noted as a
commitment, but not accrued a5 expenditure.
Governance costs are those incurred in connection with administration of the charity and compliance
with conslitulional and slalutory requirements.
2.5 Debtors
Trade and other debtors are recognised at Ihe settlement amount.
2.6 Cash at bank and in hand
Cash at bank and in hand indudes cash and short-term highly liquid investments with a short
maturity of three months or less from the dale of acquisition or opening of the deposit or similar
account.
2.7 Ltabilities and provisions
Liabilities are recognised when there is an obligation at the Balan￿ Sheet date as a result of a past
event. it is probable Ihat a transfer of economic benefit will be required in Settle￿ent, and the
amount of the Settlement can be estimated reliably.
Liabilities are recognise(S al Ihe amount that the charity anticipates it will pay to settle the debt or the
amount it has received as adVan￿d payments for the goods or services it tnusl provide.
2.8 Financial InSt￿ments
The charity only has financial assets and financial liabilities of a kind that qualify as basic financial
instrumenls. Basic fiF)anc¢al inslruments are initially recognised at transaction value and
subsequently measured at their settlement value wÈth the exception of bank loans which are
subsequently measured at amortised cost using the effective inlerest method.
2.9 Fund accounting
General funds are unrestricted funds which are available for use al the discretion of the Trustees in
furtherance of the general objectives of the charity and which have nol been designated for other
purposes.
Critical accounting estimates and areas of judgment
Estimates and judgments are continually evaluated are based on historical experience and other
factors, including expeclalions of future events thal are believed to be reasonable under the
circumstances.
