The Trustees present their annual report together with the audited financial statements of the charity for the year
6 April 2023 to 5 April 2024. The Trustees confirm that the annual report and financial statements of the chartty
comply vnth the current statutory requirements, the requirements of the charity's goveming document and the
provisions of the Statement of Recommended Practice {SORP), applicable to charities preparing their accounts
in accordance Y￿th Financial Reporting Stsndard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS102)
{effective l January 2019).
Objectives and activities
Policies and objectives
In compliance ￿￿th the duty set out in section 4 of the Charities Act 2011 and in shaping our objectives for the
year and planning our activities. the trustees have considered the Charity Commission's guidance on public
benefit. In deciding which institLrtions to provide grants to, the trustees given careful consideration to charities
that share the foundation's objectives.
b. Strategies for achieving objectives
The foundats'on is established as a charity ¥those objects are the relief of poverty, distress and sickness, the
advancement of education: the protection of health and for any other charitable purpose. These objects were
met during the year by the making of grants.
c. Main activities undertaken to further the charity's purposes for the public benefit
In setts'ng objectives and planning for activities, the Trustees have given due consideration to general guidance
published by the Charity Commission relating to public benefit, including the guidance 'Public benefit. running a
charity IP82)'.
Achievements and performance
. Main achievements of the charity
During the period, donations of £Nil (2023-. £Nil) were received and charitable grants of £693,000 (2023..
£659,250) were made.
Financial review
. Going concem
After making appropriate enquiries, the Trustees have a reasonable expectation that the charity has adequate
resources to continue in operational exislen¢e for the foreseeable future. For this reason, they continue to adopt
the going concern basis in preparing the financial statements. Further detsils regarding the adoption of the
going concern basis can be found in the accounting policies.

b. Reserves policy
The financial position of the foundation is strong. The foundation is funded by the private donations from the
Atkin family and it is anticipated that the support of the Atkin Family will be available to the foundation as
required. It is the policy of the Trustees to retain a fund of such value as to generate adequate investment
income for future spending plans. The Trustees wish to safeguard the foijndation's abilty to support it's
beneficiaries in the future and are to achieve this by judicious management of its resources.
Totsl amount of unrestricted fund held at year end is £1,326,152 (2023.. £1,990,332).
Structure, govemance and management
Constitution
The Atkin Charitable Foundation is a charity set up by a trust deed dated 20 January 2006, which allows for the
activities covered by the chanty's objective with no specific restricts'ons. The Atkin Charitable Foundation is
registered as a charity wtth the Charity Commission.
b. Methods of appointment or election of Trustees
The trustees are appointed by invrtation of the original settlors of the Charitable Trust to a maximum number of
six.
. Organisational structure and decisionwrnaking policies
The trustees meet at regular intepials to discuss and formulate policy which they implement. There are no paid
employees.
d. Policies adopted for the induction and training of Trustees
The induction and training of trustees is carried out informally by existing trustees.
Financial risk management
The Trustees have assessed the major risks to which the charity is exposed, in particular those related to the
operations and finances of the charity. and are satisfied that systems and procedures are in place to mitigate
exposure to the major risks.
The chanty's financial control systems have been reviev•ed by the trustees and they are satisfied that these are
appropriate to the types of ath'vities undertaken by the charity. The trustees are satisfied that any major risks
have been identified and have been mitigated
Plans for future periods
The Atkin Charitable Twst plans to continue to operate into the forseeable future wth the continued objective of
providing grants to institutions working towards the relief of poverty. distress and sickness.

Statement of Trustees. responsibilities
The Trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees, Report and the financial statements in accordance
wth applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted
Accounting Practs'ce).
The law applicable to charities in England & Wales requires the Trustees to prepare financial statements for
each financial year vthich give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of its incoming
resources and application of resources. including Éts income and expenditure, for that period. In preparing these
financial statements, the Trustees are required to..
select suitable accounting policie5 and then apply them ¢onsistently',
observe the methods and principles of the Charities SORP (FRS 1021.,
make judgments and accounting estimates that are reasonable and Prudent.,
state whether applicable UK Accounting Standards (FRS 102) have been followed, subject to any
material departures disclosed and explained in the finanaal statements.,
prepare the financial statements on the going concem basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the
charity V￿1[ continue in business.
The Trustees are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that are sufficient to show and explain
the charity's transactions and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity
and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply the Charities Act 2011, the Charity
(Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 and the provisions of the Trust deed. They are also responsible for
safegLtarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of
fraud and other irregulanties.

Independent Examlner's Report to the Trustees of The Atkin Charitable Foundation (Yhe
charity,)
I report to the charity Trustees on my examination of the accounts of the chartty for the year ended 5 April 2024.
Responsibilities and Basis of Report
As the Trustees of the charity you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance wth the
requirements of the Charities Act 2011 {Ihe 2011 Act'l.
I report in respect of my examination of the chanty's accounts camed out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and
in carrying out my examinaknon I have follow￿d Ihe applicable Directions given by the Chanty Commission under
section 145{5)(b) of the 2011 Act.
Indepondent Examinerfs Statement
Your attention is drawn to the fact that the chanty has prepared the accounts in accordance with Accounting and
Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Pracbce applicable to charitses preparing their accounts in
accordance vAth the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland {FRS 1021 in
preference to the Accounts'ng and Reporting by Chanties. Statement of Recommended Practice issued on 1
April 2005 which is referred to in the extant regulations but has been wthdravm.
l understand that this has been done in order for the accounts to provide a true and fair wew in accordance with
the Generalty Accepted Accounting Practice effective for reporting periods beginning on or after 1 January
2015.
I have Completed my examination. I confimi that no matters have come to my attention in connection ￿th the
examination giving me cause to believe that in any matenal respect..
accounting records were not kept in respect of the chanty as required by section 130 of the 2011 Act,. or
the accounts do not accord with those records: or
the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements conceming the fom and content of
accounts set out in the Chanties (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement
that the accounts give a 'true and fairf view %4thich is not a matter considered as part of an independent
examination.
I have no concems and have come across no other matters in conneth.on *ith the examination to th*hich
attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be
reached.
This report is made solely to the charty's Trustees, as a body, in accordance with Part 4 of the Charities
(Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008. My work has been undertaken so that I might state to the charity's
Trustees those matters l am required to state to them in an Independent Examiner's Report and for no other

General infomiation
The Atkin Charitable Foundation is a charity registered in England & Wales. Its registered office address
is 16 Rosemont Road, London, NW3 6NE.
Accounting policies
2.1 Basis of preparation of financial statements
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance wth the Charities SORP (FRS 102) -
Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Ststement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities
preparing their accounts in a¢¢ordance wth the Financial Reporttng Standard applicable in the UK
and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019). the Financial Reporting Standard
applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) and the Charities Act 2011.
The financial statements have been prepared to give a Irue and fairf view and have departed from
the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 only to the extent required to provide a 'true
and fairf view. This departure has involved followng the Charities SORP (FRS 102) published in
October 2019 rather than the Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended
Practice effective from 1 Apnl 2005 which has since been withdrawn.
The Atkin Charitable Foundation meets the definition of a public benefit entity under FRS 102.
Assets and liabilities are initially recognised at historical cost or transath.on value unless othewse
stated in the relevant accounts'ng policy.
The charity's fijnctional and presentational currency is GBP.
2.2 Fund accounting
General funds are unrestricted funds ththich are available for use at the discrelion of the Trustees in
furtherance of the general objectives of the chanty and vthich have not been designated for other
purposes.
Investment income, gains and losses are allocated to the appropnate fund.
2.3 Going concem
The trustees have reviewed the circumstances of the charÉty, and consider that adequate resources
continue to be available to fund the activities of the charity for the foreseeable future. The trustees
consider that there are no material uncertainties about the chanty's ability to continue as a going
concem.
2.4 Income
All income is recognised once the chanty has entitlement to the income, it is probable that the
income wll be received and the amount of income receivable can be measured reliably.
Income tax recoverable in relation to donations received under Gift Aid or deeds of covenant is
recognised at the time of the donation.
Income tax recoverable in relation to investment income is recognised at the time the investment
income is receivable.

2.5 Expenditure
Expenditure is recognised once there is a legal or constructive obligation to transfer economic
benefit to a third paty, it is probable that a transfer of economic benefits wll be required in
settlement and the amount of the obligation can be measured reliably.
Grants payable are charged in the year the offer is made except in those cases where the
offer is conditional. such grants being recognised as expenditure vthen the conditions attaching are
fulfilled. Grants offered subjecl to conditions véhich have not been met at the year end are noted as a
commitment, bul not accwed as expenditure.
Govemance costs are those incurred in connection with the administration of the charity and
Gompliance constitutional and statutory requirements.
2.6 Interest receivable
Interest on funds held on deposit is included wthen receivable and the amount can be measured
reliably by the charity.. this is normally upon notification of the interest paid or payable by the
instrtution wth vthom the funds are deposited.
2.7 Cash at bank and in hand
Cash at bank and in hand includes cash and short-term highly liquid investments with a short
matunty of three months or less from the date of acquisits-on or opening of the deposit or similar
account.
2.8 Liabilities and provisions
Liabilities are recognised when there is an obligation at the Balance Sheel date as a result of a past
event, it is probable thal a transfer of economic benefit wll be required in settlement, and the
amoLtnt of the settlement can be ests'mated reliably.
Liabilities are recognised at the amount that the charity anticipates it wll pay to settle the debt or the
amount it has received as advanced payments for the goods or service5 It must provide.
2.9 Financial instruments
The charity only has financial assets and financial liabilities of a kind that qualify as basic financial
instruments. Basic finanual instruments are initially recognised at transaction value and
subsequently measured at their settlement value.
Critical accounting estimates and areas of judgment
Estimates and judgments are continually evaluated and are based on historical experience and other
factors. including expectats'ons of future events that are believed to be reasonable under the
Circumstan￿5.
