The Charity's principal activity is renewal and regeneration within St James' Garden, so as to reclaim a wonderful, historic and Grade 1 Listed green space and an inspirational resource within the inner city.During the past decade The Friends have worked tirelessly with Liverpool City Council and Liverpool's Anglican Cathedral to render it clean and safe so that others can appreciate it.

Objects: The Protection Improvement Or Conservation Of The Physical And Natural Environment Particularly Of The Piece Of Land Known As The Cemetery Adjoining The Cathedral Of St James In Liverpool By The Provision Of Help Information Advice And Support To Individuals And Organisations Concerned With The Conservation Protection And Regeneration Of The Said Piece Of Land; And The Provision Of Recreational Facilities For The Public Who By Reason Of Their Youth, Age, Infirmity Or Disablement, Poverty Or Social Or Economic Circumstances Have Need Of Such Facilities
