## **Related party transactions**

When considering issues related to financial support for individuals related to trustees, who are carrying out the work of the charity in India, the final decision lies with the trustees who are unrelated to the recipient.

Mr Sundar Pinninty has continued to be employed by the charity in his role as director. This employment relates to his capacity as director of the trust as per his contracted responsibilities, rather than for his role as trustee. After working in a voluntary capacity role for thirteen years, Sundar Pinninty has been working for the charity in a part-paid and part-voluntary role since January 2016, (i.e. the salary represented only part of the hours he contributed). Sundar’s salary had been increased towards the end of the previous accounting period, however due to limitations of funds this had to be reduced in November 2023 to the previous amount. He was renumerated £22,890 during the year, but with a forecast salary of £16,740 per annum going forward.

FLM remits to P. Swamydas, the father of Sundar Pinninty, a monthly amount as payment for their contribution to the ministry in India, and oversight of the Home of Hope, totalling £2,200 for the year. He stepped back from his involvement in November and hence the monthly amount was stopped to allow for payment of other staff members that were appointed. However, it is recognised that they continue in ministry and supportive roles that could be contributed to in the future if funds allow and trustees determine to.

FLM covered the travel costs for Sundar to go to India in March and November, and for the Pinninty family to travel to India to serve with the charity for a longer period of 7 weeks, during July/August. This came to £4069 for the year.

## **Recognition of assets**

The Home of Hope and the land are maintained and used for charitable purposes by FLM/NGM. These assets have been recognised in section B4 of the accounts, even though the accounts have not been prepared on a consolidated basis. The legal title of the Bus is currently held by Mr Sundar Pinninty. The trustees note that the title holder is typically resident in the UK and does not use for personal uses. The title of the bus might be transferred to NGM or retained in a personal name to allow for sustainable income for the charity, whichever is in the best interests of the charity.

## **Public Benefit Reporting**

The trustees have had due regard to the Charity Commission guidance on public benefit reporting.

## **Basis of accounts preparation**

The accounts presented relate to Fountain of Life Ministries, International (‘FLM’). Amounts paid from FLM to NGM are shown as sterling payments in the receipts and payments account, at the point of the transfer.

## Section D Achievements and erformance p

**Summary of the main Home of Hope achievements of the charity during the year**

We provided care and upbringing of 15 children, having welcomed one new child whose father felt unable to look after him. He was enrolled in a different school as the other children’s school did not have a place for him. We employed a tutor to help them all with their homework and to help them catch up given some of them have developmental delay. We cared for health, wellbeing and covered medical costs as required. General maintenance on the home was carried out as needed with the aim of maintaining a safe and homely environment for the children and staff. We continued to take care of our staff. We maintained a bus for the use of the Home of Hope family Our staff during this period included a super-intendant, management, carers, a tuition teacher, a driver/caretaker and agricultural site warden.

## **Trips**

Sundar visited India in March which involved trips to the slum areas and gave some aid to families in need. Home of Hope administrative tasks were performed and the children were taken to ‘Snow World’ to experience winter weather. The Pinninty family visited in August for an extended trip (7 weeks). We arranged simple but enjoyable excursions with the Home of Hope, such as visits to a new dam, meals out, visiting a large craft village, and a splash park. We continued to provide input with studies, general development, covering special areas like personal and social development. We held children’s committees so their voices can be heard. Sundar visited again in November, appointing new staff and ensuring the continued smooth running of the home.

**Other** We were also able to provide a borewell for one of the slum villages we have worked with, this was gratefully received.
